There’s a First Quarter Moon in Sagittarius this Saturday
Edited by Gemma
The first quarter Moon this Saturday will land on the 3rd of September at 11°13’ of Sagittarius. Much about the astrology chart of this first quarter Moon tells me there’ll be a high-energy atmosphere with some possible added excitement, as we’ll see a fairly tense alignment between the Sun, the Moon and Mars. Jupiter will also be in an activating alignment with Mercury, ensuring a platform for us to voice our opinions, goals and intentions.
While it’s true that we still have a good number of planets in retrograde and these are our transpersonal planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus Neptune and Pluto), there will hopefully be some forward momentum this weekend, with Mercury and Mars so strong in the chart for the quarter Moon. However, there will likely still be lots of reviewing of older themes that have played out so far throughout the year. Read on to find out more.
The Moon will be in Mutable Sagittarius
With the Moon in the mutable, fire sign of Sagittarius and the Sun in mutable, earth sign of Virgo, there’s definitely this abundance of mutable energy. This should have us not only feeling that there is a deeper urge to make changes in our lives as per Uranus’ strong position next to the North Node, but also have us feeling as though we are ready to and that we want to. This is a really important theme in marking the time of the first quarter Moon this weekend, because it means the shifts in our lives are likely to come easily, with no holding back. If you’ve read my previous articles you may remember there has been so much going on in the previous few months in terms of Saturn’s energy, along with Taurus placements and other fixed signs making a statement and this may have created an intense aversion to external change, whilst triggering lots of internal growth. Now it looks as though there is much less to have us resist external changes, so we can move onwards in our new-found personal, internal progressions.
The Sagittarius Moon will oppose Mars in Gemini
As the Sagittarius Moon opposes Mars in Gemini, this should bring about an easy flow of mutable energy between our intuitive, emotional selves and the ways we create movement in our drives whilst on our paths to fulfil our desires. At the same time, we are less likely to act on something that isn’t deeply meaningful for us or true to us in some way or another. Sagittarius and Gemini are signs who enjoy fun and like to deviate between a variety of stimuli. They’re also signs who love to learn, so perhaps this weekend will be intentionally filled with fun and educational experiences that are close to our hearts. As someone with Mars in Cancer, staying at home reading my favourite astrology book would fit this bill perfectly.
The Sun will Square Mars
The Sun will square Mars at the time of the first quarter Moon, placing the Sun at the focal point of T-Square, with Moon and Mars the opposing planets. What does this mean? With the Sun in Virgo, this will perhaps increase the likelihood of our identification with the Virgo archetype as we find comfort in creative organising and in enjoying the order of things, in good health and in cleanliness. Preparing for the month ahead is likely a strong theme, with any plans that need to be realised breezing forwards with all that energy from Mars’ square to propel us. Frustrations and anger as a result of this square may be handled in a Virgo fashion too, as we set new boundaries and create new lists for ourselves and others to follow that will be sure to help prevent any frustrations or setbacks in the future.
The Sun will Trine the North Node
The Sun’s trine to the North Node will even further strengthen the light and meaning of the Sun for us this weekend. As the North Node of the Moon is significant in interpreting our growth as a collective or throughout the world, the Sun’s trine here will no doubt mark positive developments, especially (and hopefully) as this pertains to the ecosystem, sustainable living and developments in food. These are linked with Uranus in Taurus, who is still in conjunction with the North Node. Hopefully, some careful planning will move forwards that will be helpful to society as a whole or some developments will take place that will lead us towards more thoughtful practices.
The Sagittarius Moon will Trine Jupiter in Aries
As the Sagittarius Moon trines Jupiter, who will be in Aries, this will likely heighten our emotional responses to our general environment whilst increasing our intuition and perhaps even improving our general mood. Although the Moon will already be in the sign Jupiter rules, Sagittarius, there should still be an increase in a positive, feel-good flow of energy. We may even want to get out and explore the culture and buzz of a new city we’ve never explored before. Seeing the ruler of the quarter Moon in trine to the quarter Moon is definitely a beneficial and lucky alignment, which I hope you will all enjoy.
