About The Full Moon in Aquarius This Friday!

Edited by Gemma

August’s month’s Full Moon will be at 19°21’ Aquarius, occurring exactly on Friday the 12th at 02:36 BST. This Full Moon in Aquarius will be energetically tense because of several square as-pects that will be operating at the time the Moon is full. There may be lots of learning curves to steer through as we release as much as we can from the preceding cycle. There are likely to be new restrictions and emotional responsibilities to consider and we may have to go about em-bracing these with approaches we’ve never previously considered or entertained.

The Leo – Aquarius Axis

The Leo – Aquarius axis represents creativity and individuality. Both Leo and Aquarius are two of the creative signs of the zodiac and, whilst Leo is a sign who tends to create during play and in the moment, Aquarius is a sign who relies very much on analytical thought, hence creating with progressive ideas whilst peering into the future. Both signs are very self-aware and as Aquarius tends to be quite focussed on the collective, Leo is much more inner-circle oriented, focussing on self-validation and personal growth. Here we do see rebelliousness from the main-stream versus validation from the mainstream. For these reasons this Full Moon may coincide with some themes relating to these polarities and the fine balancing act that’s often needed between them. How much can we create and live in the moment whilst planning for our long-term growth in terms of emotional development and nurturing a collective ideal?

Saturn will Conjoin the Moon

As the Moon will be in Aquarius in conjunction with Saturn, there will be a doubled-up dose of a strict requirement for emotional control, yet at the same time this also indicates a great deal of sensitivity towards the world of feeling. Within this sensitivity, there tends to be fears of ex-periencing vulnerability coupled with an instinct to build walls around us that are reinforced to keep people out, yet this isn’t always the best thing as there is also a danger here of pushing the world of feeling aside, to the detriment of our emotional health. Being unable to release emotions as and when they are experienced is a problem that is often attributed to the Moon in conjunction with Saturn. Having said this, the release of emotions and the current themes we’re experiencing surrounding emotions is a common thread of the Full Moon period, there-fore it may be seen this weekend that many feelings are finally released that we’ve been hold-ing on to for some time. Finally there may be changes to a situation that has been stuck or for some reason has been unable to be processed.

Uranus will square the Sun and the Moon

To add to the difficulties with emotional expression, Uranus’ square both the Sun and the Moon will increase our level of uncomfortability with both emotional expression and peering closely into our identities. This can certainly create sensations of awkwardness surrounding our self-nurturing and grounding when it comes to our internal work that is necessary to move for-wards. This is Uranus acting in a self-deceiving way, especially seeing as he is the planet which is so focussed on progressive movement and forward motion.

Mars will square Saturn

Mars will square Saturn at the time of the Full Moon this Friday, so any overhanging frustra-tions, aggressions or fears could also be in danger of being repressed. Given the tense align-ments so far mentioned, this Full Moon could well be a period of great frustration and tension which has us wondering how we’re going to hold ourselves up through such a trying time. Sure-ly there is a lot of strength in the stars aligned, with Saturn so strongly placed, the Taurus squares and Mars’ trine to Pluto, but Mars’ trine to Pluto does seek growth and transformation while the Sun in Leo desires creativity and expression.

Uranus will Trine Mercury

There is such a potent Mercury signature here with Mercury’s position in domicile in Virgo, as he trines Uranus in Taurus. Mercury in such a way brings us strength in logical thought and connection through communication, which doesn’t necessarily help us with the expression of emotion we most likely need at this point, but it will aid us when it comes to compartmentali-sation and strength of reasoning. We will also have the unique ability to think in ways we wouldn’t usually and come up with original ideas we might often instead balk at the thought of.

Venus will Reach Leo’s Critical Degree

Venus will have reached the critical degree of Leo at the time of the Full Moon, due to ingress-ing into the fixed fire sign just the day before, on the 11th of August. Now that Venus is in Leo, love is likely to be expressed with drama and confidence. Venus in Leo often likes to shout it from the rooftops as they wear their heart on their sleeves. The critical degree is potent too, as the whole sign has yet to be explored this time around and the heart is at the entrance of navi-gating a whole new journey.
