There’s a Quarter Moon in Libra this Thursday
Edited by Gemma
The quarter Moon this Thursday will occur on the 7th of July and will be landing in the cardinal sign of Libra at 14°59’ of the sign. As we make our way through July’s lunar cycle, we increase in light and energy, not just in terms of the Moon’s position and visibility, but also in terms of our own consciousness as it relates to our current understanding of ourselves and our most intimate worlds around us. We started the lunar cycle with a new configuration of impactful energies during the New Moon on the 28th of June. It’s quite understandable if we perhaps didn’t fully comprehend what the world and others were saying to us during that time, as much of what unfolds during the New Moon tends to be deeply hidden. However, by the time of the quarter Moon on Thursday, a lot should come to light.
The Moon will be in Cardinal Libra
Libra is a cardinal sign, so whatever transpires in the days leading up to the first quarter Moon this month, it is likely to have us wanting to take action or create some changes. Cardinal signs are all about movement and making progress and, with the sign being in air sign Libra, this progress is likely to be made by changing the way we think or communicate so that we can create a greater internal, emotional balance. It’s natural to want to balance our inner worlds with our outer worlds when they aren’t feeling very synchronous. The ultimate goal could well be towards maintaining internal or emotional peace and tranquillity, especially with the Sun squaring the Moon from Cancer and the Moon being disposed to Libra, the planet of peace and harmony.
The Libra Moon will trine Venus in Gemini
As I mentioned, the Moon is being disposed to Venus, the planet of peace and harmony, which is happening because Venus rules Libra, the sign she resides in during this quarter Moon. It just so happens that the Moon is also in a beautiful trine aspect with Venus, so this means the facilitation of energies from the Moon to Venus has doubled up in signification this week. One way this could take effect, is that our love styles or our approach to romance is simply up and down or more unpredictable than usual and this might be taken further with Venus’ placement in sign of duality and changeability Gemini. Having said this, we are likely to become a tad more emotional when it comes to love, even with Venus residing in what would normally be a cool and logical air sign.
Uranus will Apply in a Conjunction with the North Node
One important aspect that astrologers have been anticipating for a while is the conjunction between Uranus and the Moon’s North Node, which will take place towards the end of the month, on the 28th of July. Uranus is a planet which tends to bring with it disruptions to the status quo or the things we have been getting comfortable with for some time whilst the Moon’s North Node is a point which symbolises our progression as a race or collectively on this Earth. So we can expect these energies to begin increasing and perhaps even playing into all that is happening for us around the time of the quarter Moon. In our natal charts this could relate to things in our lives that are no longer working for us or that need an overhaul, but we’ve been too stuck in our ways or have been getting too comfortable to make changes. Uranus is here to assist us this month and tell us that perhaps it’s a good idea to expect the unexpected.
Mars will Square Pluto
Mars’ square to Pluto indicates that the will-power and sheer determination we need to fight for ourselves in a seemingly endless battle with the ever-changing waters around us is here and coming in in large quantities, especially seeing as Mars is now moving through Taurus. There is also a stubborn nature to Mars’ transit through Taurus that will see us unmoving amidst the chaos of the Moon’s changeability and Uranus’ disruptive tendencies. In a sense, we can say hold on to your seats, because it’s going to be a wild ride!
The Sun will Square Chiron
The Sun will be applying to a square aspect with Chiron, with an orb of 01°22’ left to go. At the same time, the Moon will apply in her opposition to Chiron with the same orb and this will place the Sun at the T-Square crux position, thereby creating a point of tension and bringing our attention to our identity as it relates to our deepest emotional wounds and our sense of personal security in our relationships. How can we balance these wounds with our current emotional needs?
Ceres and Dark Moon Lilith
Ceres will conjoin Dark Moon Lilith, both of whom will be opposing Pluto. Whilst Ceres is the Goddess of fertility and the mother archetype, Dark Moon Lilith represents the original feminist or Adam’s first wife who epitomised feminine power. This asteroid and hypothetical point coming together at such a time with opposing Pluto means we are ready for transformations relating to our divine feminine energy, how we nurture and in embracing our power within these.
