The Last Quarter Moon is in Aquarius this Saturday

The last quarter Moon in Aquarius on the 23rd of April will occur while the Sun is in Taurus and the Moon is in Aquarius. These two signs are of fixed modality, so during this quarter Moon there may be some resistance to change despite the fact that the squared-off tension between the Sun and the Moon will be seeking out exactly that. Change and adjustment is a signature theme of the last quarter Moon, therefore these luminaries being in fixed signs may increase the experienced tension at this time. That being said, the push for change in our lives will also be much greater, with the Sun in the same sign as Uranus, the Moon’s conjunction with Pluto and Mercury on the Moon’s North Node.
We’re currently wrapping up what has been quite a chaotic lunation cycle centred around deep wounds and healing, so perhaps many of us have had a lot of things to consider moving forwards. Similarly, as we work to release certain elements of this cycle to move on to the next, we not only have this great deal of tension to work with, but accompanying this we also the four planets and Juno in Pisces, sending out a powerful invitation and message from spirit to let go and allow the natural flow of life to take control. The Sun and Moon in Taurus and Aquarius
With the Sun at 03°18’ Taurus and the Moon at 03°18’ Aquarius, there are questions relating to both honesty and integrity to consider this weekend. While Taurus is a sign who focusses a lot on personal integrity and being true to one’s own desires and ideals, Aquarius is a sign who values the principles of being clear and honest above many other things. Therefore the question being posed of us this weekend is, how can we be clear and honest with ourselves and in doing so, how do we remain true to our desires and ideals? Also, how do we let go and allow change into our lives whilst holding on to our personal truths and emotional integrity?
Pluto Preparing to Station Retrograde
Whilst Pluto prepares to turn retrograde on the 29th of April in just six days he is in the process of slowing down in speed to almost a standstill. At this time we may find ourselves also wanting to slow down in terms of transformations and deep internal reflections. We may find that at this time, we instead begin to review all that has happened relating to these in the undercurrents of our lives and our private spaces since Pluto’s movement over the 26th, 27th and 28th degrees of Capricorn from the beginning of January this year.
Mercury Conjoining the North Node
Mercury will form a conjunction aspect with the North Node, so there will be increased importance on all things Mercury symbolises, such as communications and all the little details we need to consider in our day-to-day lives, from scheduling and journaling to the short trips we need to take here and there visiting friends and family. Mercury in conjunction with the North Node also opens up possibilities for us as a society to come together in our thoughts and on social media to change the ways we deal with problems and crises. The written word both in publications and newspaper articles will have that extra bearing of emphasis and relevance when it comes to the momentous growth of the human race. Topics such as health, well-being and spirituality of the body may also seem ever more popular than before.
Saturn in a Square Aspect with Mercury
Topics that may also become widespread could be those relating to the ways countries are governed, archaic rules that have been in place yet are over going their need or welcome and some of the overbearing structures that tyrants have set in place and are still getting away with. Saturn in a square aspect with Mercury as he sits on the North Node may bring up many topics to do with the material or ideological walls and boundaries we have in the world and how these are limiting our forward progression. In many ways, Saturn in Aquarius might bring forward the focus of restrictions in many ways that are ultimately geared towards reaching places of greater freedom and expressions at some time in the future.
Uranus in Opposition with Poseidon
During the last quarter Moon on Saturday, Uranus will directly oppose asteroid Poseidon, bringing this god of sea and earthquakes into focus from a perspective of radical ideas, concepts and unexpected happenings. One thing Poseidon has in common with Uranus, is that they both illuminate the path to truth. Whilst one governs mental concepts, the other signifies the power of the spirit world as it is on the earth plane so this opposition highlights a unique balance that is being sought between these two worlds. There’ll still be a lot going on in Pisces at the time of our last quarter Moon on Saturday and Poseidon is closely related with the sign of Pisces so again, we are all coming together in our exploration of truth, light and spirituality.
