A Look At The New Moon in Capricorn on Sunday the 2nd of January, 2022

Edited by Gemma

This Sunday’s New Moon will be at 12°20’ of Capricorn whilst in the same sign as Juno, Venus and Pluto, who will be at 18°, 22° and 25° of Capricorn, respectively. This is a whole lot of Capricorn to have here to begin the New Year, so we can definitely expect some fresh themes relating to Saturn for many of us at this time. There’ll be lots of focus on planning for the future, building new routines to fit the ever-increasing daily demands of our lives and generally making sure things will work for us throughout the busy month of January.

With the New Moon in Capricorn, focus will be primarily on work and career, on understanding the huge amount of inflation that’s been added to much of our daily living will need to be balanced with a least a little boost to our income. How else will many of us expect to survive? Energy prices have increased globally, while so many businesses have increased the costs of their products and services in order to ensure they can keep running smoothly. This is to be expected after such a difficult couple of years and is why it’s super important we get in touch with exactly what we’re doing, our reasons behind this and how we’re going to grow in all areas that feed and sustain us materially.

The New Moon, Juno, Venus and Pluto in Capricorn

We know that this is a super duper Capricorn stellium of four planets (when allowing ourselves to refer to the Sun and Moon as planets rather than lights), with Juno included in the earth-sign mix as the cherry on top. This means that, even though we’ve only just seen Jupiter move into Pisces, signalling an increase in our sensitive imaginations and desire for escapism, we still have a solid need for logic, reasoning and material results. When taking into account the similarities between all things in Capricorn, we can only be met with what looks like a definite signalling towards our love lives and how we might be thinking of ways to improve the experience of these in definite ways. Firstly, the Sun and Moon together are a symbol of our relationships, with our egos intertwined with our emotional needs. Juno represents our romantic soul mates, unwavering loyalty and the bonds of marriage and of course we then have Venus, the goddess of love and beauty. With Venus in retrograde having just conjoined with Pluto on the 11th of December, perhaps many of us are thinking of the past, while wondering whether new ways to perceive past romantic hurts might be more beneficial for us moving forwards. A deep analysis with Pluto as our aid can set us on a new (and of course practical) path of enlightenment for our future needs, helping us to heal our relationships with both our lovers and ourselves.

The New Moon will Trine Uranus

With the New Moon forming a trine aspect with Uranus, we will not be stuck in any kind of rut. Often, Capricorns or situations under the energy of Capricorn are known for becoming a little stuck, especially when the fears and rigidity of the sign and Saturn are at their strongest. This time things will be different, because of this helpful trine. We will not only be thinking productively with inventive visions for the future, but we’ll also have our energies directed towards personal freedom and expression. If we’re eccentric or different, this will not be something to shy away from, but something to embrace and if we need to do something totally offbeat to get in touch with our own needs, we will do so without a second thought because, hell why not?!!

Saturn will Sextile Mars in Sagittarius

Saturn is super important at the time of this New Moon, because he is the ruler of all things aforementioned in Capricorn. This New Moon stellium phenomena not only strengthens the energies of Saturn, but it also promotes him to a higher role astrologically. The Sun, the Moon, Juno, Venus and Pluto are all disposed towards Saturn, so their energies are directed his way and his position at 12° of Aquarius means he is in domicile and manifesting goals with us to the best of his ability. What makes his ability even more incredible at this time is his sextile with Mars in Sagittarius. Sagittarius is a freedom-loving sign who greatly values experience so this is further reason we will be likely to observe such a positive and productive week (or even month) for us all.

Jupiter will Square the Moon’s Nodes

Mars is then disposed to Jupiter who, having just entered Pisces is now fully square on with the nodes of the Moon. We may become acutely aware that our modes of expansion right now in our lives are not necessarily synchronising smoothly with our soul’s bigger calling that is mapped out for us this lifetime, but we are heading forwards nevertheless and we are moving in leaps and bounds. We can remain positive that this is just another stepping stone towards our realising our destinies.
