How Does An Astrologer Do a Natal Chart Rectification?

Astrologers have been performing natal chart rectifications for a very long time, because they can provide a great solution when there are clients who want to have their natal chart reading done with their forecast consultation, yet they are not 100% sure of their exact time of birth.

Natal chart rectifications are used to pinpoint the most likely time of birth, to a given minute, because for each minute of error in the birth time, transit dates or other predictive timing dates can be off from anywhere from a few days up to a whole month. So, if you are not totally clear on your birth time, you can go to an astrologer who will look at your natal chart in more detail for the day you were born who will be willing to also provide you with a natal rectification. They can then move ahead with your predictions and transits charts with much more confidence in greater accuracy.

Using a Window of Time

First of all, you will be asked to provide a window of time within which the astrologer will want to work. It’s unfortunate that they may not be able to pinpoint an accurate time of birth without this. This is because if you have no idea of the time of day you were born at all, the margin of error is just so great that there will be no way of knowing how accurate the result is. However, if you can provide a window of time within a couple of hours, the astrologer may then feel confident enough to go forwards and find which is your most likely birth time within that time frame. It will be even better if you can narrow it down even further.

Choosing A Best-Fit Ascendant

The next step will be to look at the range of Ascendant signs that fall within this time frame. If it is a two hour time frame, then often there are a few Ascendant signs to look at. There are often three but there will be possibly as many as four, depending on where in the world you were born. The trick for the astrologer then is to ask you questions to see which Ascendant best applies to you. They may ask you questions like what is the type of person you strongly identify as, which they may base on your Ascendant ruler or what was your birth like? This is a question you may need to ask your mother, but quite often we can see whether it was a peaceful or traumatic birth by looking at the Ascendant sign and corresponding aspects within your natal chart.

Transits for 12 Major Life Events

The Astrologer will usually ask you to make a list of 10 or 12 major events that have happened in your life, each with an exact date. These can be things such as the day you were married, the births of your children, the passing of important family members or the date you graduated. Other things such as large money windfalls, accidents and major illnesses can be included, too. They will then use these dates to determine which birth time will be the best fit based on astrological predictive techniques for the dates of your life events.

Solar Arcs for 12 Major Life Events

Solar arcs can be very useful for an astrologer when performing a natal chart rectification. This is because concrete external evens in life are very often accompanied by solar arcs with hard aspects to the natal chart. For this reason, solar arc charts of each of the major life events are often looked at first. Once this has been done, the astrologer may look at secondary progressed charts and transits for more signifiers for the events. Very often major life events will have significant indicators within every method of astrological prediction, which means the astrologer can narrow your best fit natal chart birth time down with an accuracy that’s suitable for your natal reading and astrological forecast.

Narrowing it Down

By this time an astrologer should have your birth time rectified down to within a few minutes. They may then go ahead and ask some further questions or even look at some recent major transits to your Ascendant or Midheaven, while providing the dates of these based on your new Ascendant degree to see if they match up to the recent experiences you have had. By now the astrologer should have your birth time down to an accuracy within one minute as rectified and you will be good to go ahead with your consultation.
