The New Moon in Libra on Wednesday the 6th of October

What Does the Coming New Moon in Libra Have in Store for Us?

This week’s New Moon will be at 13° Libra while in an almost exact conjunction with Mars, who will also be at 13° Libra. This is likely to be a time when confidence levels are high as we start to take on new projects that require our own enthusiasm and self-encouragement. We may have new ideas regarding money and we may naturally begin new cycles in our social lives and relationships now.

With the New Moon occurring in Libra, now will be a great time to call upon our intuition while going deep within ourselves to seek what it is we need to do to improve our relationships. How can we achieve that sense of balance and harmony we have been longing for or how can we increase connection within our relationships? The New Moon is a time for remaining open to the current flow of energies that are coming into our lives right now while listening closely to what our instincts are trying to tell us about all that is going to unfold for us over the coming two weeks. The two weeks between the New and Full Moon is a period of time where the energy builds around a particular theme in our lives and this can be different for everybody.

What is this theme going to be and how are we going to work with it?

The Moon, Sun and Mars Conjunction

The New Moon occurs when the Sun and the Moon conjoin at the same degree of the zodiac, so we have our natural monthly cycles of intuition and self-nurturing combined with our core creativity and ego drive. What is really happening is we are creating our own next cycle at a subconscious level and this is very typical of what the Moon in astrology signifies. We will become more and more conscious of this cycle as time progresses over the following couple of weeks, after which the Sun will oppose the Moon when it is full. With the Sun representing our consciousness and Mars our will, focus and drive, we may realise that we have been playing a major role in intentionally contributing to what this New Moon will be all about for us. Some things need to change in order to create balance in our lives and many of us may have gone out and created that push for change over the past week, before the New Moon takes place.

The New Moon will Conjoin the Mercury Retrograde

The changes we are creating for ourselves at the time of this New Moon in Libra are long overdue. We have had the notion for these changes for a while now, but we just haven’t been in the right mindset to jump into these changes or create the action needed for us to forge ahead. The Mercury retrograde brings to the surface of our minds things that we have previously considered or problems we have not yet properly worked through in ways that are completely sensible and logical. With the New Moon conjoining the Mercury retrograde and our planet of action Mars, we are forging ahead in ways we know we need and want to, because we’ve already placed these ideas back on the shelf time and again in the past (perhaps even regretting this on occasion).

The New Moon will Trine Ceres

Ceres is a dwarf planet (still also referred to as an asteroid in astrology) who represents nurturing, protection and wholesome nourishment. This means we will be doing what’s right for us, what is for the best and what we need to do in order to nourish and nurture our soul’s energy. The New Moon’s almost exact trine to Ceres is a real blessing for us in this sense. Perhaps we will instinctively want to protect and nurture one another with encouragement too.

Opportunities

The New Moon will Oppose Chiron

With Chiron in opposition to the New Moon we will seek and find opportunities to heal our mindset on certain topics and the way we approach them or talk about them. We may want to change the way we address certain situations in order to work towards a more peaceful environment. This may be especially true within family relationships, with Ceres also in aspect to Chiron.

Venus in Scorpio will Conjoin the South Node in Sagittarius

Conjunctions to the South Node usually represent opportunities for change that we’ve experienced previously yet at that time we were unable to take the opportunity or it passed us by before we had the chance to fully embrace it. This aspect occurs very much in alignment with what I mentioned previously about the Mercury retrograde bringing up again things we have previously considered and perhaps new options will also appear. With the South Node in Sagittarius, the opportunities that have come around again will likely be ones that allow us to expand our horizons in some way or another, which may feel exciting, exhilarating and refreshing. With Venus in Scorpio making the conjunction, the New Moon in Libra is energetically disposed to her so this again doubles up on the potential for these opportunities to be in the realm of finances and/ or love. Let’s make the most of it and reach for the stars!
