An Overview of The Month of September 2021 in Astrology

September is going to be a wonderful month! As it’s now Virgo season, it’s a time for all that busy-bodying with the hustle and bustle that is so often associated with going back to school, college or university. We all need to get back into the groove of life after the summer holidays and prepare for the start of Autumn that will welcome us later on in the month.
This month we have a lovely, cool New Moon in Virgo on the 7th of September, followed by Venus’ ingress into mysterious Scorpio on the 10th. We will then see Jupiter’s semisextile to Pluto on the 11th and Mars will enter peaceful Libra on the 15th. The Full Moon will appear in dreamy Pisces on the 20th and then just two days after that the Sun will enter into Libra on the 22nd, forging our way ahead into Libra season. We will then end the month with Mercury’s retrograde starting at 25° Libra on the 27th.

The New Moon at 14° Virgo on the 7th of September
The New Moon we have coming up in Virgo on the 7th will be forming an exact trine with Uranus in Taurus. Both will be at 14° of the Earth signs they are in, so will be fully entrenched in those signs. The middle degrees (14° - 16°) of a sign are quite important in interpretation as they are so true to the sign they are in. With Mars and Pluto in Virgo and Capricorn respectively too, let’s just say we have a very earthy New Moon on the horizon! The theme her is keeping ourselves busy and sorting out all the practical day-to-day details of life. We will do this using the awakened, creative energies of Uranus and the sheer determination that Pluto offers at this time.
Venus Enters Scorpio on the 10th of September
Venus has been in Libra since the 16th of August, so we may have seen some romance, grace and gentle persuasion within our relationships since then. Now that Venus is entering Scorpio things may be somewhat different, because Scorpio isn’t a shy type of energy. Planets in Scorpio are here to create an impact and this usually happens unconsciously and instinctively. With Venus here we’ll be looking for change and something to enliven our senses, not just in romantic relationships, but in our social lives as well.
Mars Enters Libra on the 15th of September
When Mars enters Libra on the 15th of September, it’s likely we’ll experience two things right away. One, is there’ll be a gentle subdual of the mental energy we usually have from Mars in Virgo and secondly, mixed feelings of relief and peacefulness in the air. Mars has a lot to say about the overall energies presented to us on a daily basis and in Virgo, we really do see a lot of cognitive hustling and activity going on. Libra is also a sign of thought and logic, being an air sign, yet there is a dreamy and artistic quality about it, which relates more to creativity, social activities and leisure. We may also want to consider every side of our potential choices to the point of indecision at times, which is another trait of the Libra sign.
The Full Moon at 28° Pisces on the 20th of September
The Full Moon will trine Pluto in Capricorn, so with the release of all of those energies that have been building since the time of the New Moon back on the 7th, will come potentials for deeply positive and personal transformations. These transformations will likely surround our careers and working lives, our communications within them and the amount of empathy and compassion we have for our colleagues. We’ve been working hard this month so we’re all set for improvements. The Moon’s conjunction with Neptune in Pisces and Mercury’s exact trine to Jupiter in Aquarius should see to this.
The Sun Enters Libra on the 22nd of September
The Sun enters Libra this month on the same day as Autumn officially begins in the northern hemisphere. When The Sun enters Libra, focus and communications may become more centred around fashion, social events and things like celebrity gossip. We may also find ourselves gossiping more about who’s wearing what or what the boy next door has been up to. Discussions may become increasingly more fair, especially during disagreements as people may feel more inclined to think about everyone else’s side of any arguments before jumping to conclusions.
Mercury Turns Retrograde on the 27th of September
So far we have had some very positive Mercury aspects, so it really is a good idea to get as many of our Mercury-related chores done before this retrograde as we can. I know this isn’t possible for everything and life has to go on, but if any major contracts to sign can be re-scheduled to a time outside of the Mercury retrograde then this may be for the best and especially any purchases of cars or or large electricals or machinery. Mercury will turn direct again on the 18th of October.
