INTRODUCTION TO THE READING OF THE DOMINANT ELEMENT

The Four Zodiac Elements - Fire, Earth, Air and Water - reveal the pet’s type of socio-psycho-ethological inclination: the character, the predisposition to specific learning tasks, the sensitivity, the relationships with other living beings.

If you do not have the time of birth, it is possible to calculate a basic birth chart without domification, outlining specific and eloquent traits and characteristics and identifying the dominant zodiac element in the general picture (prevalence in its Birth Chart of Fire, Earth, Air or Water values), that is to define which type of energy the an ...

PET WITH FIRE DOMINANT ELEMENT (connected to Aries, Leo and Sagittarius values)

Since the dawn of time, fire has been hot, irresistible, attractive, exactly as it was when man discovered it for the first time. Imagination gets lost in the contemplation of its intensity, strength and colours: it is undeniable that fire is perhaps the most exciting (and excitable) element among the four. Just like the visceral and primordial energy it conveys, so animals with this dominant may generally appear spontaneous, impulsive, always ready to react according to instinct. Their life energy is action, dynamism, warmth, physical contact, a pronounced sense of dominance and territorial behaviour. They are "radiant", generous, enthusiastic subjects that can wear out a calm and placid human, yet filling their everyday life with vitality, selflessness, exaltation and joy.

For the Fire Element, relationships develop in the excitement of reproduction, in the fascination of the original hunting instinct, with a burning desire to possess or reach objects and people. Fire intelligence can go anywhere without restrictions: these animals are always ready to amaze and amuse unconsciously and to embark on dangerous adventures with no hesitation. These pets generally get along well with humans and animals with Air Dominant (dynamic, daring and enthusiastic like them): beware, however, of energy burnout, which could exhaust the resources and create wearing situations due to excessive excitement/movement. From Water Dominant, Fire Dominant can absorb and learn the warmth of tenderness, while it finds it harder to reconcile with Earth Dominant, its energetic opposite, which is often perceived as too static and restricting, but from which animals can learn - not without some effort - the patience needed to control their instinctive excitement and make it a productive and fruitful force. An abundance of Fire Element in the natal chart may cause, for example in dogs, displays of dominance behaviour (social higher rank and aggressiveness), impatience, with a significant risk of psychophysical stress. The limit could therefore become resistance in the long run, easily compromised by weariness. For this reason, it is necessary to pay attention to the signals of "haywire", out of control, confusion and anxiety: it is important to give these animals balance, to channel their skills, to dampen the haste by promoting calm and slow actions.

INTRODUCTION TO THE READING OF THE EMOTIONAL ATTACHMENT MODEL

The role of the Moon in the pet’s types of attachment (emotional bond) and relational development

The Moon in the pet's birth chart represents: the inner self (how the living being was nurtured and taken care of, what the puppy’s early stage of life was like, if it was influenced by conflicting, independent, adventurous relationships, etc.), the pet’s level of trust towards others (which emotional imprinting is applied in the emotional relationships with its caregivers, conspecifics, etc.) and its fears/vulnerability in relationships.

ENMESHING ATTACHMENT

If the Moon is connected with Neptune, the pet expresses a marked emotional nature (often with the conjunction), where the pet struggles to conform to a specific routine, as Neptune makes the boundaries of emotional perception blurred and confused. If Mars joins the already delicate connection between the Moon and Neptune, a "rebellious type of attachment" could occur, with episodes of sudden aggressiveness, based on experiences of abandonment or traumatic separation, with strong emotional dependence (separation anxiety, emotional ambivalence). The anger of Mars would express itself in a dysfunctional way and against the attachment figure (the Moon).

INTRODUCTION TO THE READING OF MERCURY IN THE BIRTH CHART

The role of Mercury in the Pet's birth chart

Mercury in the natal chart represents the functions of the pet's intelligence: the mental dynamics of its relationships (especially with "human" parents), the upbringing (as a development tool through communication), the training (teaching new skills and specific practical tasks) and play , as a means of learning between members of the same species (intraspecific ) or of different species, such as humans (interspecific).

Adaptation to family life, therefore, represents ...

MERCURY IN CANCER

It stimulates an almost symbiotic bond towards the attachment figure, as an eternal puppy-child in search of constant attention and contact (aspects of the Moon and Neptune with Mercury have to be considered). The mind is receptive and susceptible, the memory is excellent. Learning can be both fast and slow, depending on the emotional involvement of the pet.

MERCURY WITH FIRE DOMINANT: vital energy, excitement, involvement, extroversion
Positive aspects: joy, initiative, trust, security
Excess: impatience, hyperactivity, obstinacy, lack of self-control, behavioural disorders
Deficiency: low energy, fatigue, apathy, fear, behavioural disorders

INTRODUCTION TO THE READING OF MARS AS THE LEVEL OF ENERGY AND AGGRESSIVENESS

Mars in the animal natal chart, analysed along with the characteristics of species and race, represents:

- vital energy, the impulse to take action meant as level of aggressiveness (literally "going towards"): in its positive meaning, the essential component for the preservation of every living being as the species’ inborn instinct to survive in the surrounding environment. If the level of aggressiveness is badly handled by humans, primarily with communication mistakes between different species, it can lead to possible behaviour issues in the pet, increasing the intensity of i ...

MARS IN LEO

It gives the pet physical strength, energy, enthusiasm, exuberance and self-confidence; extroversion appears as the desire to dominate in its positive meaning (being confident and relaxed in the surrounding environment): an excess of energy can however become a tendency to be overbearing, exposing the animal to the danger of external aggressive reactions.

Level of aggressiveness 2: ASSERTIVENESS OR SOCIAL HIGHER RANK

A more balanced Martian energy level than dominance, which shows a strong but not bullying character, is the behaviour of asserting social higher rank (assertiveness) as evidenced by the harmonious aspects between Mars and the Sun, where the aggressiveness of Mars finds the support of the Sun’s energy and warmth, in the need to act to excel, assert one’s presence and control the territory, but not necessarily with competitiveness. This dynamic is reinforced by harmonious Sun – Uranus aspects, where the pet shows assertive communication, quickness of mind, intuition, good physical energy and pragmatism.

In dogs, assertiveness is expressed in communication between individuals by using “calming signals” (visual and postural messages that convey compromise/dialogue in the relationship, gestures of good manners and respect among conspecifics): the "assertive" pet accepts the requests of others, trying at the same time to deal with the situation and other individuals by taking up the controlling role in the context. Positive Mars – Venus aspects highlight self-confidence, charisma, assertiveness also on an empathetic level (search for contact and attention), demanding that one's will is taken into consideration (consistency between emotionality and action). The harmonious Mars – Jupiter aspects soften dominance and aggressiveness, making the subject able to use all physical and mental resources in a balanced way, obtaining the maximum result with minimum effort, with a communication rich in sounds and interactions, participation, boldness, self-affirmation and with a certain stubbornness and possessiveness: even though the behaviour is balanced on the whole, the urge to communicate and assert oneself remains, which can be successfully vented in recreational and sporting activities.

Mars conjunct (proximity) Mercury makes the animal's intelligence bright and the mind quick and alert to benefit from advantageous situations, just as harmonious Mars/Uranus aspects emphasise these characteristics and add a sociable character that is rarely aggressive/imposing, since Uranus-independence prevents the animal from becoming too emotionally involved, both in a good and in a bad way, and makes it prefer "escape" if necessary and thus avoiding unsafe situations and reducing the risk of failure of its dominance.

Mars-Saturn positive aspects emphasise the cold and rigid side of the pet’s character, channelling the will into action, avoiding waste of energy, strengthening the predisposition to control and to reach positions of power without however showing significant aggressiveness (which would result destructive). This scenario, if supported by positive Mars-Pluto aspects, increases the pet’s extreme vitality and self-confidence, in the form of boldness and the ability to succeed in any situation. Harmonious Sun – Pluto aspects also support the animal through impulses/unconscious forces/primordial instincts that give leadership skills, energy, inborn and infallible intuition to make the most of the external environment.

INTRODUCTION TO THE READING OF PLANETARY DOMINANTS

Knowing the pet’s dominant - that is the planetary typology with which the pet is more in tune - means to understand why some physical, mental and relational traits characterise it to the point of becoming a sort of identity card through which the pet interact with the outside world. However, let’s not forget that pure dominants are very rare: each animal is always the result of all the energies of its birth chart and the same subject is generally affected by the influence of two or more planets, although with a different impact. For this reason, the dominant must constantly be analysed along with a co-dom ...

SOLAR DOMINANT

The pet that has the Solar dominant is connected to the Fire element, as suggested by the star that is synonymous with energy, light and heat par excellence, in the form of charisma and temperament. Just like the Sun, the character inclinations of the Solar pet "shine": standing out, being a leader or wanting to be the centre of attention within the social group, the pack and the family group are a constant need for the Solar pet. This behaviour is regulated by the aspects of the natal chart that can intensify or weaken the imposing vital drive. Among the positive qualities of its nature, what stands out is generosity (especially when it comes to rescue dogs or assistance dogs), along with gentleness, intelligence and courage.

They have an extroverted, bubbly, effusive nature, want to be protagonists and leaders, and need attention and material and emotional care. For the Solar dominant, it is important to have an environment to control on a territorial level: they are attached to objects and members of the "clan", and comfort must reign supreme (beds, sofas, "territorial fields" for the cat, its places of belonging).

At times impulsive and touchy, Solar pets get along well with the children of the family and tend to protect them and take care of them: they are alike, enthusiastic about the world in a genuine way.

As for their physical appearance, the Solar pets share some features with the Venusian (especially the thick and shiny fur): they have harmonious appearance and body structure, intense and expressive eyes, they are energetic and focused on the surrounding environment. Tactile, visual and olfactory territorial markings are signals that the Solar pet may often use to raise its status within the social group, also to show inclusion of the members in the family group (rubbing on reference humans and searching for contact, as it happens with cats); in order to evaluate how much these aspects express dominant attitudes of the animal, the relationship with the mother (attachment) and the inclinations of the breed should be also taken into account.

Solar dogs show a tendency for behaviours of social dominance and assertiveness: they are not aggressive, but confident in their actions and presence, and ready to take action if necessary.

Unlike the Martian, the Solar animal is not overly aggressive or domineering: their more static and less restless nature expects a sort of respect and gratitude towards them rather than overbearing actions to be performed. The Solar animal usually tends to pay little attention to the commands of its human owners, out of spirit of "regality" and boldness and rarely out of aversion, fear, misunderstanding: it is often more interested in its own well-being than in attention outside the self-referenced sphere. Its leadership does not necessarily follow the law of the strongest/dominant (this happens more for the Martian), but, if the natal chart is well balanced, it is an authoritative leadership.

In the development of the Solar pet, collaborative exchange is important to find one's role in the group hierarchy, to be a good parent and member of the social group: it is necessary to avoid being overbearing, but to interact and communicate. The concept of limit is very important for the Solar pet; puppies that grow up without the lessons given by parents and siblings may have no limit when it comes to playing and attacking.

In cats with Solar Dominant, it is important to keep neuroticism and dominance under control, lowering the levels of aggressiveness and impulsiveness: in the character balance, the Solar cat falls into the psychological type of "human cat" (happy to share home and personal space).

Dogs with Solar Dominant include psychological types characterised by: liveliness (interested in the objects that are brought to their attention, maintaining focus and performance), sociability (ability to integrate into human society and interact with others in general), courage and fortitude (physical/ psychological ability to put up with unpleasant external stimuli and positive reaction/adaptability to more negative situations, however controlling irritability and anxiety), temperament (responsiveness to external stimuli in a range from apathetic, to attentive, to quick, to hyperactive), with remarkable leadership skills, as the Sun is, not without reason, at the centre of the solar system.

Parts of the body to pay attention to: heart, sight, brain, nervous system.

Meanings associated with the Sun in the animal world: the father, the pack leader, authority/charisma, leadership.

The myth : the Solar type is connected to the Sun god, Apollo (god of light, health and prophecy), synonymous with fatherhood and education (the pack leader in animal symbology): therefore, it is naturally inclined to take the initiative, to lead the group, to have a high hierarchical status.

THE SOLAR IN RELATIONSHIPS

For the Solar pet, emotional bonds and physical relationships are very important. Dogs can become very deeply attached to a single human being in particular, to whom they will always be devoted and faithful (just like the Venusian and the Plutonian/Martian, but with more consistent and less contradictory intensity than the latter). The Solar is passionate and energetic: the dog, for example, could show attitudes of social dominance in relationships (assertiveness) - tail held upright, tail wagging with high tail, erect posture, pricked ears, its paw/muzzle placed on the back of a conspecific, nibbling on the other’s muzzle.

Balanced interactions - within the interspecific (different species) and intraspecific (same species) relationships - are fundamental for the Solar pet. When it begins to share its life with a human family, the Solar animal, already from an early age, proves to be nice, cheerful, sociable, but it also needs to learn to control its instinctual possessiveness of dominance.

The task of the human parental figure with this Dominant is more than ever to play the role of an adult dog with a confident/strong character that lets the puppy lick it, jump on it, nibble it, but that is also ready to growl to make it understand the sense of limit, starting from its conspecifics, the border of acceptance respecting others, in order to learn how to resolve conflicts and be accepted (Marc Bekoff).

Care and attention are basically the key to success in the training and relationships of the animal with Solar Dominant: strengthening positive behaviours, pampering and rewarding the pet, trying not to pay attention to wrong behaviours, but suggesting correct ones as an alternative that is reinforced by play, food, fun. The Solar animal bonds with its human of reference faithfully and respectfully, to protect them. The consistency and perseverance of the human owner encourage the development of an intelligent, loving, outgoing subject, which can adapt to considerable environments and tests, because it is a natural leader.

THE SOLAR AND THE OTHER PLANETARY DOMINANT TYPES

The Solar is complementary to the Lunar with which there can be a good emotional connection as long as the Lunar remains in its role of deference (respectful of the Solar sovereignty). The relationship with the Martian is positive, but the latter must not show social dominance or excessive aggressiveness, which would stir the Solar’s competitiveness. With the Uranian tension is generated: excessive quickness, overly energetic action at all costs put pressure on the Solar and must be properly controlled/integrated. The relationship with the Mercurian is stimulating: play and fun. The Saturnian , with its coldness and inflexibility, may stir competitive responses based on aggressiveness. The relationship with the Neptunian is ambivalent: at times playful, at times considered by the Sun to be boring or hard to understand. Excellent understanding with the Venusians , which can be satellite partners and loving subjects for the Solar. The relationship with the Jupiterians is explosive, based on discovery, adventure and passion. Intense relationships with the Plutonians : for better or for worse, the outcomes are unpredictable, with fights for dominance and conflicts that can be ruthless (rituals of aggressiveness between males), but also respect and distance if the relationship does not get heated.
