Psychological portrait

There are many schools of thought regarding astrology, and they all are valid. However, the reading that we want to propose in this section is the psychological one. A tool which gives an excellent opportunity for personal awareness that can be of great help in a path of growth and understanding of one's own inner world, above all in those personal "parts" that are not easy to identify and to express directly.

Unfortunately, each of us has had a childhood, a period in which we were particularly fragile and needy, and it is precisely in this period of our lives that the need to adapt to external requirements often makes us transform, repress or even remove some our parts because they are perceived as being "unacceptable".

At a psychological level, the parts that are not acknowledged are those that will try to make themselves noticed, causing us difficulties: this is because our psyche moves towards completeness, and it is through the interpretation of symbols that the reading of our birth chart allows us to reasonably easily identify our potential and what instead needs to be extracted to reach a more solid and truer sense of identity. The birth chart therefore becomes a very interesting tool to understand how things really are and what energies, if used better, will allow us to complete our life's mission.

The psychological portrait is developed by reading different elements that are present in each natal chart but that combine differently for each of us, thereby forming a unique and special mix in our ways of associating, distributing and exchanging energies: this unique mix is our individual personality, the one that makes you a different human being from anyone else.

Objectiveness and detachment to face life

You are a person accustomed to perceiving the world as an offshoot of yourself, something that starts and ends with you; this approach makes you feel good, full of involvement and pathos; however, it does not give you a way of seeing how things are seen from the "outside", such as belonging to others, and, as such, experienced and interpreted in a different way from you. Your continuous underlining of what you would have done in a given situation displays a type of misaligned empathy that must be abandoned.
The world of the emotions is certainly useful as a means of staying in contact with others, nevertheless too often you have difficulty in distinguishing what happens inside you and what instead happens "outside" of you. You need to begin to trace solid demarcation lines, to discriminate and to understand what belongs to you, separating it from what does not belong to you, and you can do this only by beginning to work on a detachment that can offer you a viewpoint that is different from your habitual one.
It is not possible to make clear judgments on the things that we are involved in: often you think you are being objective, but in fact you react in a completely personal and irrational way to events that touch you personally. You need to acquire a vision "from up on high" so as to be able to perceive others as "different and separate from you".
Judgment is a quality that requires distance and perspective.

Looking at the sky and conceiving beauty

There exists a beauty that cannot be contemplated except through the eyes of the mind; there is a side to you that seems to lose sight of the aesthetic side of life and does not allow you to perceive the lightness and sense of perfection beyond emotional maelstroms and materiality. There are values that cannot be understood if not at an "ideal" level; it is this ideal that creates the desire to intervene in matters to make them better, closer to absolute beauty. Your mind travels in the crystalline spheres of the ether and can perceive all possibilities. To conceive of beauty and to be attracted by things that are not yet tangible is part of your need to relate to what there is around you and to perceive this sense of perfection. This aspect allows all mortal beings to feel that there is a path to improvement. The fact that the mind is able to conceive of an ideal model produces the hope that one day it will be possible - even for mankind - to reach perfection. Get in touch with your "ideals" because they allow you to have higher objectives.

Communication and relationship

One of the most fascinating qualities of human beings is "communication"; to be able to express what we have in our mind is something that allows us communicate at all levels and acquire knowledge. To communicate and to relate is our way of sharing things, of finding things in common with others, of not feeling alone and isolated, but it can also be a way to transform our world, by exchanging our thoughts with others. There is a side of you that is deeply afraid of dialogue and which defends itself by turning inwards; this limits your opportunity for growth and comparison; you must learn to communicate not only on a verbal level regarding facts and practical situations, but especially to express what you have inside.
Your inner realm must be somehow able to connect with the outside world: you will feel truly "at peace" with the world when you find the right relationship between your feelings and your thoughts, but also between what you are and what instead comes to you from others.
Life is a relationship: there can be no existence unless it be in a relationship to something else. To open yourself up more and to participate more means getting to know aspects other than your own. The phrase written on the temple of Delfi was "know thyself"; however, this cannot happen if not through a relationship.

To unite what seems to be separate

Reason and sentiment are not as distant as you may think; making this unity feasible allows one to experience a sense of completeness without having to defend yourself and hold at bay that which you find disturbing because it is distant from you.
Even the world of powerful emotions, which is so interesting and fascinating for you, might be more manageable if your mind were able to investigate the real and profound reasons that compel you at times to behave in ways you have not consciously chosen. The conscience has the prerogative of using the mind as a personal tool to dig deep and bring what was previously hidden to the surface.
The world of the mind is that of consciousness: emotions secretly direct our actions, but often they do it without giving us an exact direction: reasoning is what can make the difference, because it can understand what would otherwise remain unconscious and can give true direction to our decisions. In this way you can combine two different ways of perceiving reality and gaining experience, which are only apparently irreconcilable.

Ability to imagine and achieve

You possess a great ability to imagine and create and, at the same time, you have a great need to achieve what you have in mind. Doing this at the same time is not always easy because those that are both creative and imaginative usually have a certain difficulty when it comes to the world of making things happen, which is chained to the material and functional aspects of things. Instead, inside you there is a powerful mind, which is at the same time organised and practical: you must find a way not to disperse your great intuition when you are in the phase of putting things into practice, which is mundane and, above all, uninspiring.

The sense of identity impressed in the things that are done

There is a very interesting and original way that you must find in order to balance energies which appear to be in contrast to one another inside you: your mind is swift and powerful, but incredibly unsuitable for storing what it sees and perceives by intuition for a long time; realizing and putting into an exact shape something that is perceived by intuition requires the ability to balance energies inside you which appear in contrast: on the one hand there is a swiftness of imagination and vision that leads you to see with the eyes of the mind what might be and how a certain idea might be; on the other there is the need not to dissipate ideas over the time that it takes to realize them. What might allow haste to be bypassed is the sense of pride and an increase in value that is obtained by seeing the product of one's own creativity.

Cultivating hobbies that could become professions

You have a strong need to maintain contact with your instinctive and spontaneous side: your inner child can help greatly in giving a sense to the things that you do and in giving you great fulfillment when you manage to do what you really like and making you feel personal pride. Precisely what you love and what amuses you there can generate a true professional instrument that can guarantee you certainties without losing sight of the spontaneous aspect and the strong need for passion which nourish your soul.

Combining enthusiasm and objectives

Two of the things that sustain you from within are the enthusiasm and passion that you put into each of your projects and in everything that you do: keeping this potential alive in your own psyche is like remaining in contact with the inner child, the one that never wants life to lose intensity or hope in the future. The great secret, though, can be found in the possibility of maintaining a concrete objective fixed in your mind: you love life and love work; you like being the centre of attention, but you can be so even more if you manage to find a balance between your need for recognition at a personal level and the need to do something of use and functional for others, too; you can also use the strong need for personal certainties to satisfy your innate generosity.

The route to integration

The birth chart is not only an ensemble of characteristics that regard personality; it is much more; a birth chart encloses a plan concerning your life. This plan contains the perception of your past and future, a vast area of experience from which we draw, through which we have already developed much of our potential and a new direction, which is the one that we have in front of us and that we must know to be able to make what we have chosen to come true and which represents our future.

None of us are born without capabilities; the potential that is indicated in the birth chart can be considered a "trend" that we have acquired in the past and that influence our present: they are true skills which can be useful to us in moments of difficulty since they are already tested, and therefore known to be effective.

However, this passage does not always turn out to be easy: there are in fact features of our past that rather than being useful simply as experience, can actually hold us back, they may be features that are too rigid which are difficult to shrug off; if this happens we have to pay particular attention to learning to mediate what we know - this must be an important source and not something to hinder us so that we remain within its constraints - and instead we must grow learning to use new capabilities, which therefore have not yet been fine-tuned - this is a passage that cannot be seen exclusively as a difficulty that will require a great deal of effort.

In this sense, our past represents the capabilities and competences that we have already acquired, something which we can use, our tools; the future regards what we are called upon to develop during our lifetimes because this there will be of fundamental help in the journey towards our future.

Slowly abandon the schemes

Social roles and the ability to feel welcomed and integrated into your world and in your daily life consist of common standards, tested and accepted ways of thinking which you can afford to go beyond in your search for something more, that can better represent your sensitivity and your need to get in touch with the world. Sometimes you feel frightened by the idea of loosening the reference points, in fact, from having developed a healthy ability to discriminate and assess reality you can get support that will sustain you in your inner desire to discover what lies behind the borders of the rational mind and consciousness.
Getting in tune and empathizing with others requires dropping barriers, defenses and schemes, especially the mental barriers; learning to be more flexible and relying only on your receptiveness. Contact with the unconscious cannot happen if you don't rely on that part of the mind that combines, associates and "feels".

The integration of body - mind - emotions

Learning to feel is a precise destination of your journey. You have learned to check and select ideas and thoughts, to catalog and order what seemed to be chaotic and now you have to learn to let your emotions flow more so that you can recognize and perceive: you know that you do not bend to the order of your mind, but doing so will let you understand more and get closer to other personal and collective dimensions. You definitely need to un-hook yourself a little from your sense of perfection and the idea that control is a weapon against things you don't understand; to succeed you have to develop a strong sense of "compassion" that allows you to hear what is going on in others without fear of losing your path and your truth.
Strong contact with reality can now even take you beyond, because you know the boundary point beyond which there is a world where not everything is tangible, but no less real or intense. Try to develop your imagination and your ability to communicate what you "feel": this may open a very important channel for yourself and others.

A new awareness

Humans are almost always much greater than they think they are. For some time you feel attracted to that which is not common; your interests are almost always towards unexpected areas and are maybe also very particular. The diversity that is within you is looking for recognition and, therefore, attracts experience and people who are alternative and uncommon. The inability to stay within the limits of objective reality causes you to stray, to become kidnapped; often you ramble and dream but at the same time, this modality opens up an absolute reality made of receptiveness and perceptions far removed from ordinary reality. The rigor and structure of mind that you have and that have developed are of great help in having different experiences and then comparing them with your parameters of reality. This is why you sometimes feel anxiety because something does not belong in your personal world. It is as if you are a channel through which flows the vibrations and feelings of others. Awareness of your borders helps you retreat from confusion and allows you to find real contact with others.

Create a bridge to let the spirit flow

The sense of emptiness that accompanies you and that seems difficult to fill may arise from a part of your nature that cannot and will not be content to live within a limited and tidy world that has no clear meaning or true sense. There's a side of you that aspires to meet the infinite, to understand the laws that govern everything around you, and this side knows you need to listen to your inner visions without restriction and without limiting the field of view or limiting your chances of understanding. This side knows that reality is a great illusion and that the mind is the great illusionist, but you also know that not everything that exists is understood by the mind. You have great qualities in you that enable you to open yourself to experiences that are not only "rational", but also real and tangible. The capacity to empathize and feel compassion for the feelings of others can evolve into feeling a sense of participation in your surroundings and experiencing that people are far more united than they might think: this is called feeling spiritually connected to the totality of things. You have the task of letting go and slowly getting rid of conventions and false reality, but you will then also be a lot more confident in what comes from within, which will support you at all levels.

The purpose of your journey

You are on a quest that asks you to consider something much larger than what is reality and the ordinary material things of life. If you stay focused exclusively on the mind, this in turn becomes a limit because it continues to remain separate from your totality.
You know that there are different levels of knowledge and consciousness: there is a consciousness that allows you to understand objective reality, but there are several dimensions that belong to your potential psychic ability to determine dreams, fantasies, thoughts and simulations through which human beings can come to glimpse future events and scenarios. This means that people are able to create their own world and their own future, and to participate in everything that happens in reality. It is through your empathy and the ability to perceive the fine threads that bind people together which allows you to understand the concept of interdependence that is around you. You know that the mind and body are closely interdependent, you also know that hearts and minds cannot be regarded as two worlds divided, you know that others are in constant contact with you because you can feel their emotions, their thoughts and vibrations, from this you know that unity is a real fact and that separation is instead the great illusion of the mind. If through a work of art you can feel what the artist felt when he created it, and if you are able to feel the loneliness, fear or suffering of a child who lives on the other side of the world, then the sense of unity and interaction is strong and it is real: this can help you develop a greater sense of solidarity in order to contribute effectively to life.

The hero's journey

Each sign has a higher purpose and a precise individual myth to discover and understand: this does not mean that the purpose and myth have to coincide perfectly for everyone; however, the sign's myth will provide a kind of structure which the person can use and it will be a reminder of the overall path that regards the people born under this sign; Joseph Campbell stated that myths represent a path which allows people not to feel alone, since at all critical moments they remember that exactly the same kind of events, these crucial passages in life, have already been faced by others before them.

The purpose and the myth of each sign are therefore also a path for us that helps us go forth on our personal journey. The myth is an overall way of living that fits well with the personal one, which is why its validity persists over time; the purpose is instead something personal which indicates what we have to become.

Everybody should therefore discover what their "solar purpose" is and which is their personal myth, because this will accompany them in their journey through life, without doubt affecting life's main stages.

Each journey has certain symbolic characteristics which everyone can relate to.

To enjoy the direct light of the Sun

You have an extremely strong and bright purpose to pursue: it is the perception of a strong light, of a powerful energy that radiates through joy, generosity and giving of itself.
Therefore, you will have a particular need to find "your place in the Sun" and will have to conquer this with your strength and with the weapons of the loyalty and courage, slowly discovering inside you what it is that animates you deep down. You have strongly tied yourself to the symbol of the Sun, which is why you possess certain qualities that you will not be able to ignore: you have warmth inside you and a light that must be emanated to the outside world, as if you have the task of lighting everything that surrounds you: like this, while you are spreading light, you manage light your own way to more and more clearly. Your powerful imagination and vision will let you go beyond yourself and your ego; in this way your light will light your path towards your self-fulfillment: this path you have undertaken will also let you be a particular reference point for others that, through the vision of your centrality, will be able to orientate themselves with greater clarity.

The true "leader" of yourself and for others

The qualities that you have received as gifts from your solar sign lead you not only to be able to shine for yourself, but to also have to enliven people who are close to you: you have the ability to find sense and meaning in life, and this may be the experience that you will be able to pass on to all the people who surround you and that, for this reason, will be able to see the light.
In mythology, the figure of the hero is tied to the sign of Leo, or of the one who overcomes huge misfortunes but who keeps his objective firm: he is the leader, the one who understands the value of life and wants to be real natural leader. The tools that you have at your disposal are a high level of confidence in your potential and ability and a real strength that does not consist of opposing, but in attracting.
The hero is also the person who will not be able to keep what he has conquered for himself, because in this case he would be a victim of the power he has attained; treasure symbolically represents an "asset" that belongs to everyone, to the whole of humanity; it represents the knowledge that is found in collective unconscious of which only the best - the heroes - can attain, because they have the qualities to overcome the trials they will find on their path. At the end of the day the heroes let everyone know about their exploits- which is the only way a hero can grow and find his dynasty (the hero becomes something for others to emulate and gives continuity to the life).
Only at the end of his journey will the hero's light illuminate the world, and its warmth will be a source of life for all, since it will truly come from the bottom of his heart.
Like the Sun that is in the sky and that attracts and keeps the entire solar system united and like the hero who conquers the treasure, so you must learn that your strength has the particular capability of attracting others to you, because they all perceive your energy, because it is clear, linear and authentic and does not work for exclusively personal reasons. You will have to understand that your regality and your strength are not derived from an acquired right, but from what you will have capable of conquering; if there is no conquest, your life will be invaded by a sense of failure and uselessness.

Contact with Being

To realize your heroic journey you will have to do without a grandiose image, which is always present in your solar sign, and to contact real interior power, which must be supported by great ideals that push you towards the development of your strong sense of identity. To understand that you have a great elevation ability, but that not for this reason you are or should feel superior, will be one of the issues that will concern your life. A perception of brightness often produces a kind of grandiose image of yourself in the early years of your life. However, if this is not understood, it will prevent you from using your real abilities in the best possible way. Your journey thus consists in distancing yourself from your light and in identifying how to use your energy to conquer this regality in the realm of life. Exactly like Apollo - god of the Sun - who had arrows that he could use to illuminate and give life: however, this depended on his conscience and his will.
You must develop a strong sense of identity because this will lead to the possibility of acting and of thinking in an illuminated way: superiority must therefore be authentic and not expected, and above all, it cannot be reflected or even provided by others, since it is you who must bring light.

Confronting the shadow

The stronger the light the more likely its shade will be wide and long. Your shade consists of looking for attention and prestige in the outside world and in non-working deeply on your self-confidence: if it is not you who inspires and shines you will always have a need to take light and in a certain sense "steal" fire from others. You need to be "the centre", and not "at the centre": if you do not manage to have the security and naturalness that come from inside you, you will risk bringing everything on the image and not the essence of yourself. It is your light that must inspire others and not the contrary. If you are the light you will not be able to shine reflected light; it must be you who is able to give value to yourself and to be able to valorize those who follow you, and it is from your innate capabilities, and from your courage and generosity that the possibility of benefitting from the things you have so generously received as gifts will come. Otherwise you will be pretentious, haughty and you will need to be supported; you will be neither a king, nor a leader, because you lack the strength of attraction and will not be able to inspire anybody for their journey to discover themselves. Also, you must make your generosity become true and authentic, and you will not be able to use it to conquer or even to obtain admiration. Confidence and trust in you and in others will be the only weapons that will slowly replace pride and presumptuousness. Once you have really made contact with these innate gifts, you will know how to live on equal terms with others, without having the temptation of thinking you are superior to them.
