Sub-dominant analysis :

Intepretation and text by Elena Cartotto

VENUSIAN SUB-DOMINANT

The Venusian types are beautiful. They may have Paul Newman’s eyes or Claudia Cardinale’s sensuality, who have both a dominant Venus at the Ascendant, but their beauty is not just measurable physical traits or a vague sex appeal. It is something more: it is a philosophical idea, the embodiment of a dream that is both aesthetics and ecstasy at the same time. The Venusians are not pleasant and irresistible in an indiscriminate way, but, for all of them, the sense of beauty is a sort of sixth sense. Intriguing and definitely charming, they aim at purity of forms and concepts, with a marked artistic taste that can become real creative talent. For them, beauty is first of all an existential vision that aims at harmony in the representation of sounds and figures, emotions and ideas. Luigi Pirandello as well had a dominant Venus: he started from a godforsaken place in Sicily and eventually won the Nobel Prize.

Just like the Jupiterians, they are naturally blessed by Lady Luck. Above all, though, they are always in love: with something or someone. Their genuine sensuality should not be confused with the Martian’s bold and chasing sensuality or the Plutonian’s snake like sinuous sensuality. It is the physical and metaphysical contact with the beauty of the world that generates in them both creative and procreative impulses and instincts. In the eternal confrontation between Eros and Thanatos, they are Eros, the desire to possess what you admire, without needing to penetrate and consume it at all costs, in that engaging struggle for supremacy which is the norm for the Martian/Plutonian. The Venusian is not even narcissistic like the Solarian, even though they like to be appreciated, or phagocyting and overflowing like the Jupiterian.
Among the planetary types, they are maybe those that, more than anyone, together with the Saturnian, show people respect with gentleness, elegance and true thoughtfulness. If they belong to a less evolved type, they will be more inclined to indulge in the superficial and sparkling cheerfulness of the beaumonde and, exactly like the Jupiterians, will love to show off their influential social connections.

They can work successfully in the fields of luxury, fashion, communication and marketing, because they are very good at dealing with public relations, and their tendency to easily fall in love can concern their job as well. They are people who truly put their heart into whatever they do. Their natural empathy helps them to understand needs in advance and to satisfy them with regard to content and organization. For the same reason, they can excel in jobs that involve being in contact with a lot of people and that are focused on the appearance: beauticians, hairdressers, photographers, or the new professional figures of the new economy as fashion bloggers and personal shoppers. On an artistic level, they can succeed in different sectors, but they are at their best as interpreters, both in music and in cinema/theatre. They can really appreciate poetry. Generally, they are not innovators and they adapt very well to the society they live in, being able to capture all the positive aspects, just like the Jupiterian. They don’t deny themselves anything, from good food to beautiful clothes, without overdoing it.

THE VENUSIAN AND LOVE

In today's society, they are atypical individuals, because they tend to truly get emotionally attached. They want to touch you, even without any seductive or sexual purpose. They want to be near you, they listen to you if you have problems and do not passively accept situations of conflict, but they face them with the strength of their sweetness. Obstacles are handled gently or bypassed, not certainly knocked down or broken through as other planetary types do. They are romantic, without the excessive lunar sensitivity, and at the same time reflective, beyond the Saturnian or Mercurian mental complexity. In short, it would seem the perfect combination of senses and heart, and they were born for that, after all: for love.

They like being in a relationship. Being a couple is not perceived as something binding or restricting. They are willing to reach a compromise with their partner in order to create that “us” that they think it’s more important than the “me”. Perhaps it is precisely this desire to find an alter ego at all costs with whom to enter a relationship that can make them fall into a trap and make them less attractive. In fact, once you have taken them, it will be hard for you to easily get rid of them if you change your mind. They tend to devote themselves to their relationship as if it were a religious ideal, and once they have entered into the perspective of moving in together or getting married, they will do anything to get you to the altar even if you have other goals. Leaving them abruptly, whether they are men or women, could hurt them very deeply because they are very sensitive in love. Try to escape from their coils little by little.

Another problem is that people generally like the Venusians, and therefore, if you are truly in love, you will have to be ready to fight to defend your loved one from inappropriate looks and proposals. However, they like flirting around, even though, if they love you, they would never leave you for a fleeting love affair. Remember to always keep neat and fit, though: they hate shabbiness as much as the Solarians do, even if you have been together for thirty years.

THE VENUSIANS AND THE OTHER PLANETARY DOMINANT TYPES

This is a planetary typology that almost everyone likes, thanks to both its attractiveness and fair play. Martians and Plutonians are enthusiastic about the Venusians, because they tend to complement each other. It goes without saying that the attraction is mainly sexual, while some difficulties could arise on a more intellectual level. Great understanding with the Solar types, whose narcissism is even considered funny by the Venusian, and the Jupiterians: the three are all lovers of beauty and of the good life, and have a marked ethical and aesthetic sense. They can appreciate the Mercurian’sintellect, but with no particular enthusiasm, while a good and unexpected understanding can be found with the Saturnians on a conceptual and formal level, although the Venusians remain epicurean and the Saturnians stoic. They find the Uranian a peculiar individual, but they fear their underlying opportunism. The Lunarians and Neptunians are soul mates, thanks to their common artistic and romantic sensitivity: very interesting relationships can be built from every point of view.
