Interpretazione e testo di Federica Farini
VENUSIAN SUB-DOMINANT
The Venusian pet expresses itself in harmony, beauty, peace, has a collaborative approach to relationships characterised by behaviours of respect/submission, it shows a nature that is open and welcoming, docile, willing to follow the rules and adapt to the life of social groups without a domineering attitude; this typology tends to look for harmony in every sphere of life, preferring situations of general calm and balance, and, for that reason, being the opposite of the aggressive-Martian dominant typology that is typical of the patriarchal world.
For the Venusian type, being at peace means to be able to relax in a safe, comfortable and protected environment: a harmonious natal chart reveals luck and a quiet life, perhaps within a family unit that takes the pet in, takes care of it and "nurtures" it, guaranteeing its ultimate psycho-physical well-being. The satisfaction of the senses, the pleasure, the physicality of the five senses, the inclination to playfulness / to interaction and good health reflect the state of satisfaction of this typology. The subject is characterised by general physical beauty, with harmonious forms and proportions typical of its species/breed.
Venusian calm and mildness – expressed also by slow moves and habits – shies away from the opposite Martian restlessness. Determination and stillness of the Venusian pet are preferred to speed and flexibility: slowness and passivity express the tendency to completely surrender to and rely on the other.
Taurus values enhance calm and laziness in the Venusian type, a sense of pleasure and the search for fulfilment (pheromones as a symbol of well-being at the peak of fertility in gestation), the ability to trust others with generosity, showing an explicit and participatory attachment to the humans of reference. Libra values make the pet appreciate calm and kind training methods to be implemented with patience (the pet is sensitive), making the emotional attachment colder and less intrusive/physical, however also making the pet more sensitive to loneliness (episodes of separation anxiety may occur, especially if there are challenging aspects in the natal chart). Cancer valuesenhance sociability and docility, with more playful-puppy traits, with typical behaviours of respect (obedience) and submission in dogs (lying down, tail between the legs, lying on its back: the posture is taught by the mother in the puppy’s first days of life, when she lick them vigorously on the belly to encourage urination and defecation, as newborns are not independent in this sense). Cuddles and manipulation (petting by humans) are more significant if cancer values are present.
In the feline personality types, the Venusian pet enhances the "agreeable" psychological type (cats with a balanced character, affectionate, friendly and gentle, which can also refer to a general balance of elements and aspects in the Natal chart) and extroverted (curious), while - if the typology is not well supported or is overloaded in the natal chart - the passive or neurotic typologies (reactivity, insecurity and anxiety), but also the impulsive and dominant ones (confident cats which can become overly aggressive and domineering with their conspecifics) could arise.
The Venusian typology in dogs is expressed by: docility (the animal’s ability to respect authority by accepting and positively responding to commands, an attitude that also results from its good predisposition in the human-animal relationship), sociability (ability to integrate into human society and interact with others in general), liveliness (the pet shows interest in the objects that are brought to its attention, with good focus and performance) and curiosity (ability to show interest in the outside world and willingness to explore it through the senses, a skill that helps in training sessions of detection and defence). The Venusian pet, very “sensorial” and attached to its context/territory, shows possessiveness (inclination to defend the “ownership” of an object or person); the context influences courage and fortitude (physical/psychological ability to put up with unpleasant external stimuli and positive reaction/adaptability to more negative situations, controlling irritability and anxiety), as well as stamina (ability to endure physical and psychological efforts over time, without showing signs of fatigue), temperament (responsiveness to external stimuli in a range from apathetic, to attentive, to quick, to hyperactive) and alertness (ability to sense danger at a more or less close distance).
Parts of the body to pay attention to: throat, kidneys, thyroid.
Meanings associated with Venus in the animal world: beauty, predisposition to intraspecific relationships (same species) and interspecific relationships (species that are different from one's own), harmony (docility-meekness-predisposition to contact-predictability).
The myth : in the Greco-Roman mythology, Aphrodite-Venus represents the alchemical symbol of the water element (Venus coming out of the sea) as a synonym of emotions and enjoyment of existence in harmony with creation (prosperity).
THE VENUSIAN IN RELATIONSHIPS
The Venusian animal has a strong sense of devotion, which it shows and also attracts, thanks to its affectionate nature and spirit of collaboration. Warmth and sweetness are amplified thanks to positive Venus/Moon aspects, increasing the sense of security and empathy in the pet - and therefore the animal’s emotional attachment, which is essential from the beginning of its life cycle to the family that will take it in, in intraspecific and interspecific interactions (with the same species and with subjects of different species, such as humans), generating relationships that are healthy, pleasant and open to the world (a secure emotional basis, easy adaptation to the environment and search for the contact with humans).
A balanced birth chart can promote a calm, meek attitude, sociability and reliability in the Venusian pet, which shows the characteristics of the perfect pet, integrated and inclined to family training (with firm but never authoritarian methods). The pet’s trustworthy nature is shown through the search for contact, the desire for tactile interactions with the human species, proximity and participation.
The Venusian is inclined to socialisation (which in the animal is connected to attachment), and human manipulation (pet cuddles) together with physical contact are fundamental for this typology: sociality is key (in animals, it is meant as the will and ability to establish positive and intimate relationships with any being in general, even if they are little known, accepting the violation of intimate distance, recognising a social partner in the subject they are interacting with); sociality with the human being in particular is called pro-sociality.
Socialisation happens, in dogs, with behaviours of deference (avoiding gaze, like puppies, lowering their head and ears) and submission (tail between the legs, lying down on their belly, lying on their back, licking another dog’s snout), both as friendly, non-threatening signals, towards a climate of playful and loving collaboration (which should be always evaluated considering the animal breed). Other behaviours based on aggressiveness (direct gaze, hair standing on end, growls, bared teeth, charging and attacking) are less typical of this typology - except when the animal is struggling to survive and forced to behave this way.
Turid Rugaas' calming signals are fundamental for the Venusian pet: they represent the way the dog communicates its peaceful intentions and avoid any tension or fight; calming signals can be observed in interactions/gestures: looking away, blinking, squinting, turning head or entire body aside, freezing in place, sniffing the ground, stretching, sitting/lying down, licking nose, yawning, lifting one paw, approaching laterally in an arc. The Venusian dog, which is a mediator by nature, experiences the lack of respect that its interlocutor shows towards these signals with stress, and consequently with discomfort and unease.
Roberto Marchesini’s dog Pedagogy offers some indications about the dog’s motivation for acting (the tendency to perform certain behaviours instead of others, to choose objects and activities, preferences/interests that are rewarding for the pet): in Venusian dogs, the motivation tends to focus on collaborative aspects (activities with a partner or in group activities), communicative aspects (expressing a status or indicating something), affiliative aspects (being part of a small group) and social aspects (achieving a position within the group).
According to the typologies created by Lauren Finka, the sociability of the Venusian cat would enhance the inclusion in the family group (rubbing, search for tactile interactions towards humans, with the message "you belong to me emotionally"), promoting the typology of “human” cat (which is happy to share home and personal space) and “inquisitive” cat (interested in sniffing and curious about all stimuli), but weakening, on the other side, the nature of cantankerous cat (which refuses to be touched) and hunter cat (wild and with predatory attitudes), unless there are challenging aspects in the natal chart.
THE VENUSIAN AND THE OTHER PLANETARY DOMINANT TYPES
The Venusian pet feels protected and guided by the strong> Solar , which however should not impose itself but collaborate, in order not to compromise the Venusian need for peace and quiet; The Venusian and the Lunar show themselves to be receptive, docile, friendly and submissive with each other. Opposite to but attracted by the Martian : a combination of salt/pepper, white/black, defender/striker, passing from aggressiveness/ possessiveness, to impulsiveness, to short but intense moments of deep affection. Like the Uranian , the Venusian is connected to the sense of pleasure and well-being, although in different ways: the Venusian prefers to laze about, but stimulating games can guarantee collaboration and stir curiosity. With the Mercurian playing and interaction are stimulating. The Saturnian fascinates the Venusian: behind the cold appearance of Saturn, there is a balanced, pleasant and constructive relationship whenever they perform something together, as long as the Saturnian does not become authoritarian. With the Neptunian there is emotional restlessness that is hard to channel. With the Jupiterian , the pursuit of pleasure never stops: comfort, food, playing. Attraction with the Plutonian : it is nice to explore and smell each other closer and closer... but not too much (the Plutonian wants to control the other, therefore good communication is essential for harmony).
