MARTIAN CO-DOMINANT
The Martians are brave. They like challenges, competitions and of course they like winning, but not playing safe. They must always win on the field, never by forfeit. They are enthusiastic and often impulsive by nature, and they always rush into things at their own risk. They never hold back, even when there is someone to defend or save: several sports champions have a powerful Mars in their chart, let’s think of Adriano Panatta or the unforgettable Ayrton Senna, but also a lot of known and unknown heroes. They are people who blow things down, who make determination and decision-making power their battle weapons.
If they are men, they can sometimes fall into the category of the “tough guy”, all focused on women and engines, as was the case of Gianni Agnelli. If they are women, they can have amazing leadership skills and particular taste for challenging, in cases of great creative talent, the conventions of their time: Coco Chanel also had a nice angular Mars. It’s curious that she was the first woman to wear a unisex garment and that Vogue wrote about her: "... she created the new uniform of the modern woman". What's more Martian than a uniform? War immediately comes to mind, which, as is known, is a matter of Mars, and in fact the Martians often pursue successful careers in the army, distinguishing themselves in the various military corps. Even when they are not professional soldiers, they inevitably feel the desire to fight for something, their career goals, but also an ideal if Mars is supported by strong Neptunian or Uranian aspects. Let’s consider Che Guevara’s by-the-book Mars/Uranus conjunction on the Ascendant.
The Martians have often a chiselled jaw, an intense look and a naturally toned and burly body, and can be successful in body building. Women can be great seducers, anything but masculine, but will hardly be tender and sentimental: the colours they prefer are red and black, they love having a sculpted body and exercising regularly. Both men and women can be especially keen on tattoos and piercings. If the Martian shave a strong entrepreneurial mindset due to the influence of the Sun or Jupiter in their chart, they can successfully open and run gyms, swimming pools, sports centers of all kinds. If they are Martians who have no Mercurian or Saturnian influences, they can dedicate themselves to martial arts or fencing, or become a Master in those disciplines that combine physical and mental exercise like yoga.
When it comes to the Martian, it is very important to take the different planetary combinations into account, more than in any other astrological dominant. The Martian, in fact, is a sort of jumble of primitive energies that can be made available to any venture. Just like Aries, the Martian as well is a Big Bang ready to explode and form the Universe. They have strength, determination, a powerful and fierce will that can evolve towards the good, if they are an evolved type, or towards the evil, if they are less evolved. The desire to impose oneself through oppression, to annihilate the enemy, to take over by force are all negative Martian characteristics. A bloody dictator may very well be a Martian, as well as someone who, however, faces danger by defusing bombs and staying when everyone has run away.
THE MARTIAN AND LOVE
They are neither calculating nor opportunist people, of course. They are so passionate that, if they like you, they will have already thrown at you before they even understand the troubles they are getting into. Both men and women follow their instincts, which makes them very primordial. If you manage to turn on their senses, it won’t be hard to win them over: there are not blocked by mental barriers, and must not be overwhelmed by poetic feelings to share a steamy night of passion with you and start a series of heart-pounding rendezvous. The problem will be to keep them close afterwards. The Martian is neither a strategic Saturnian nor a romantic Lunarian, and they do not care so much about their social image as Solarians and Jupiterians do. In short, among the planetary types, they are perhaps the plainest sexually, with the nature of the hunter rather than of the prey. Anyone who thinks that a Martian woman, after getting intimate with you, will want to settle down and stay with you forever as a couple, is totally wrong. The Martians are energetic people who like sex, and it is from there that you will have to start to try to build something together. From this point of view, both men and women have a higher gear and must feel understood and satisfied in this need of theirs. If you prefer to read a book in the evening, instead of making love with considerable frequency, maybe they are not the type for you. They will also give you all the rest, of course, but first they must feel you are both on the same page.
They are loyal partners who will never stab you in the back, however, if they decide it is over, they will tell you straightforwardly, without sugarcoating it, and they will leave. They may come back every now and then, but don’t be fooled, it will be just for sex. They find it hard to let their prey go, even when they no longer love him/her. You as well can leave them without too much trouble, but should you confess you have cheated on them, be careful: they may smash your house or key your car.
THE MARTIANS AND THE OTHER PLANETARY DOMINANT TYPES
They can be a little abrupt, initially, but many people like their straightforwardness, especially the Solarians, who appreciate an energy and vitality that are similar to their own, as long as the Martian doesn't try to step on their toes. Good combination with the Plutonians: sexual attraction, same courage and love for risk, but they have a different kind of intensity and depth. They share a generous nature with the Jupiterians, and good understanding is possible on a practical level. The connection is quite difficult, however, with Mercurians and Saturnians: the former talk too much, the latter too little, and the Martian thinks they are too cold in bed. Possible understanding with the Uranians: the decision-making power of both, if they find a common project to fight for, can be explosive. The Venusians are their complementary in love, and can fit together well in a relationship, as long as the Martian belongs to a more evolved type. They really cannot understand the Lunarians and Neptunians: the Martian is a straight line, who sees these two as curves with no beginning or end.
