Venus and Uranus

Edited by Lidia Fassio

Here the loving dimension is mental, it passes through ideas, of immense possibilities, and Venus-Uranus does not want to lose even one of them. It is the dream of love that becomes a freedom for both in everything that is not tied to exclusiveness and has then little familiarity with great passion. In fact, this stage of love is reached after having gone through Saturn love.
When it looks through the eyes of Venus, Uranus loves everything, loves what love can bring as something new, as excitement, contacts; what it can wake up inside us, in terms of greater adherence to what we are, to what goes towards total freedom and to which the other is the person with whom we choose each day to do part of our journey together. Uranus can lead us to being an almost perfect couple: to a love with problems or negotiations, but that will have space in whose intimacy and freedom will be able to be lived without integral aspects of the personality of each one and in a common relationship.
At this level love is able to handle any type of agreement that is reciprocally satisfactory, because the feeling towards the other as a different person is experienced neither as a threat or like treason. Uranus love is therefore able to completely tolerate diversity, even when this regards convictions and profound values, and it is able to also experience moments of intimacy that can be used for reinforcing individuality, like moments of separation that are used for reinforcing intimacy and sharing.
There is an ideal of perfection that tends to remain far from a sad chaining to the limits of reality and from form that is pre-established from the outside: this love does not want canons, and nor does it want timescales or rules; everything must be chosen and taken. It detests repetitiveness and the automatic coexistence that make everything monotonic and static. It is a love that needs sharing at a mental level, of intellective and social interests and of common stimuli, as well as in important moments of separation in which the dimension of individuality can grow: it does not want any fusion and any great emotional contamination. It is based on exchange and dialogue, on friendship, and it prefers the sentiments to be calmed down: it is not intense but it is free, it does not suffocate but nor does it want to be suffocated by anything. It needs air to be breathed, is not tied to schemes, is not interested in the certainties of ties and rules, and on the contrary, it lives perfectly well in the reign of possible change; it is a love that feeds on ideas and not on presence, it is anti-agreements, different, open to all that the world can offer: if one closes it then it becomes receding, wandering, distant, elusive and impossible to keep back.
Uranus loves today, tomorrow can wait: in any case it is a love that chooses each day whether or not to be there. It is not an obligation, it does not rely on contracts. The commitment here is only affective, not bureaucratic.
It is a love that passes through the intellective and aesthetic side of Venus, leaving quietly aside the physical and sensual dimension. It feeds on comparison, in which the poles of the I and of We integrate in such manners to enrich and stimulate themselves reciprocally. The dialogue is the model of a relationship that at most encourages the process of individualization of both and there it is particular mainly by its fusion, where the differences are avoided: in the dialogue instead are searched for and asserted. In this relationship Uranus answers the other as another person, true and complete, not as a part of the common experience. It is therefore a wish for freedom that enters into the affective dimension and that tries to introduce the social, universal and widened side of love, removing it from the egocentrism of I with its paranoia of fidelity tied to the possession and power and to the fear of a profound comparison with certain dimensions.
The negative side of this love consists in too much rationality and in an involvement incapacity; the human dimension lacks emotion and contact. It can become unstable for fear of being caged, but the change can conceal the fear of commitment, the fear that things consolidate and go then fall to pieces.
