The Sun in the Air Signs

SUN IN GEMINI

The myth of Gemini is that of the Puer Aeternus, the eternal boy who has wings, but is lame, therefore he is in the sky, symbolically the universe of ideas and of thought, e flies with agility and lightness, he moves and balances with ability and easiness, but when he is on land, the reign of the matter, of the flesh and its passions, it walks with difficulty, manages to enter into contact neither with his most human and profound part, or with that of others. The Gemini have everything it takes to create contacts, to find relations and connections between things that do not look in relation; in fact they are sociable, intelligent, amusing, acute, curious, versatile, they are an air sign and they have a need to communicate, have contacts, create connections.
This is the easiest and clearest part of their journey, for which the Gemini have wings, and then there is another part, which is darker and which they will have to cover hobbling along with great effort, . Such a path is in recognising the world of emotions and putting not only the I in communication with the outside world, but also other different parts, especially the world of emotions with that of the thought; in fact, between these two worlds, for the Gemini, there seems to be an opaque glass panel that keeps them faraway and separate. In other words, the brilliant and curious Gemini hero is good at "thinking", much as he is inadequate in "feeling", but in the long run if he does not recognise, he recovers and it puts this darker and profound part in contact with the clear world of ideas, runs the risk of becoming as an empty shell which nobody believes anymore, because the I deprives the interior of substance.
The contacts, experiences, studies, know-how, and attempts, cannot remain a simple game that is a purpose in itself, but they must lead our hero to reach the sense of identity and relativity in relation to the life which is subjected to the laws of time and nature.
In mythology the Puer is an immortal and eternal, creature not subject to the deterioration of time: the Gemini hero has much in common with the Puer Aeternus, but it does not share “the Aeternus”, being a mortal Puer, it will have to learn during his journey “to become incarnate” in the body with which it is provided, will have to learn to recognise and to feel the weight and strength of the instincts and of emotions in itself and in others, only in such a way will his mind not be reduced to a brilliant tool of empty and elegant speculation, but will become the effective tool of elaboration of the experiences of his life. If this does not happen instead of a hero he will become a clown, condemned to always to interpret the same role because he does not know any others, forced to be a laughing stock also when he would want to cry, forced to seem eternally young also when it is tired and needs an oasis of affection, peace and maturity.
If it does not manage to re-unify and to internally integrate sky and earth, these two psychic beginnings, as the glyph of Gemini requires, our poor hero will always remain an incomplete unit, able only to act in the world of rationality and thought, but a stranger to emotions and sentiments. Destiny will therefore have a tragic surprise lying in wait for him: an old man among youths, and a young man among old men, he will never find his own place.

SUN IN LIBRA

Not a single and long path, impassable and full of danger, but clearly directed at the objective, this is the path that awaits the Libra a, but this Is not the type of effort that his journey foresees, something else awaits him for him that is more subtle and impalpable than the sweat and the effort necessary to climb harsh and steep ascents: there will be doubt, uncertainty, and insecurity before each crossroad, each path that bifurcates and takes opposite directions.
This is the path that our hero will find before him with crossroads, diffusions, crossings, at every turn, and no indications, and he has to choose or stay where he is, paralysed and devoured by doubt, this is his task. "Choosing" is the last task of the Libra, but if there are no external signs, in order to choose it is necessary to look inside and so our hero will have to find the balance, will have to find his own hierarchy of values that to guide him and dissolve the fog of doubt when he will be forced to go on his way, or to invent his route choosing from two important possibilities.
The Libra is an air sign and therefore one of relationships, and a relationship by definition involves the presence of "you" as well as me, this meeting between me and you is the key symbol of the Libra. Such a comparison between always being sure me of knowing everything , and you, the different one, unexpectedly will wake up in unknown and dark zones of the psyche, since you, the other, also represents the encounter with the different and the only and unrepeatable possibility of comparison with his own unconscious parts which ask to be included and integrated.
It is Venus, the goddess of love and beauty, which at this point will come to help of our hero, in fact it is with Venus that you disguise such parts in ideal internal images which will find what they should be projected on, and so to know them when they are revealed in their true guise of unconscious ghosts.
Only in this way, only through exchange, is it possible to explore the dark territories of the unconscious, and then to choose, because our hero must choose to break up continuously and leave his comforting shell , full of narcissism in which it has been immersed until now, and go in the direction of others, not for the old and infantile need of fusion and fulfilment, but for a mature wish for union and completion that only an encounter with the other allows.
In this sense the sacred marriage is tied to the symbolism of the Libra, it is in fact the symbolic recognition of the conjunction of two aspects of our being whom only through contact with something different that can be reached, union that happens only when one crosses the other and love comes into contact with the part hidden of oneself.

SUN IN AQUARIUS

A man with a jug in his hand that at the celestial time pours water onto the earth is the glyph of the Aquarius. It is a water with the celestial qualities, and therefore superior, one that goes down onto the earth, is limpid, clean, able to wash, purify, heal, and in any case improve humanity. We learn to move the point of view of I; to overturn the horizon of our own thoughts and actions is the effort that the hero of the Aquarius awaits.
It is a journey that involves a jump, a huge jump into a different world, a world where the needs and the rights of I have less importance and value than the needs and of the rights of we. But before arriving to the great "jump" towards the new world, the hero of the Aquarius will have to solve, as in the fables, three very difficult riddles, on pain of suffering the death of every plan and hope. He does not know anything this one, a hero i with such and magniloquent ideas in his head who leaves from the country of the Aquarius, ideas like those of freedom, equality, brotherliness, communal property and so on, and is convinced that between saying and doing that there is sea huge gap, but, when all is said and done, it is easy.
And instead, here he is quite soon firm, immobile, before the first mysterious enigma, that he does not manage to decide upon, in spite of the fact that the solution seems so clear and evident to him. The question regards the insistent need for certainty and the possession of his” I” who "must" be satisfied at all costs, this his personal “I“, and on the other hand preaching with great conviction that the wellbeing of the community that must always come before the well-being of an individual, thus even of his own I.
What should he do? Many people succumb already to this first obstacle and abandon things, but not our hero, who likes to go ahead, to solve the mystery of how the “ours“ could also become and mean the "mine". And when he is able to, he retakes with certainty his path in a swell of pride for his victory, but just a little further on he stumbles on the second and most difficult dilemma: is it actually true that what he is, thinks, does, and is like is so much more important, special and unique than what others do? To manage to see in a hero in another person, as unique as himself, whose work is like his, that is necessary and indispensable to the wellbeing and to social improvement, is the solution of the second enigma.
By now reorganised to man's measure, our hero is still not still ready to take the great leap,; there is the last and dark enigma to be solved before starting. His solution this time is particularly difficult because it passes through the confused and foggy world of the passions and power that keep on feeding his I, but it is the last obstacle between the hero of Aquarius and the new world. In the new world the concepts of equality and brotherliness are indispensable presuppositions for the freedom of everyone, it has nothing to do with levelling, levelling and adapting everything to an anyone to a certain form or dimension, it is ideals tied to the expression of the individuality of each human being that involves a concept of equal opportunities for all.
In fact, the Aquarius is quite conscious that each individual is unique and different at all the others and in fact such diversity makes each one irreplaceable. In fact, in the great puzzle of humanity each one of us is an only and irreplaceable part destined to occupy a particular place in order that the design foreseen for the puzzle can result.
The Aquarius therefore represents the great body of humanity constituted by all human beings, each one of which announces and contributes with their own individuality to the functioning of the whole system. For this reason the sign of the Aquarius does not accept hierarchies, dogmas, rules, powers, institutions that bind and that organise and assign tasks, and it acts as the outside, but everything must leave on the inside; in other words when the hero of Aquarius will have reached at the end of his journey, will no longer need a crutch or external support, rules, and limits, but individually knows which is his place in the world, where his freedom finishes and that of others starts, and as Bob Dylan sang, he knows that true freedom is the luxury that only discipline can allow itself. The myth of the Aquarius is the myth of Promoteus who stole fire to give it to mankind, and paid the highest price for his gesture, which was presenting to the humanity the same light and consciousness that only the gods possessed.
In the same way, the hero of the Aquarius will have to complete a gesture that will help and free humanity from the slavery of ignorance and possession, and especially the slavery of feeling permanently separated from everyone else.
The myth of Promethean will only end if our hero, together with others like him, will be in position to either take responsibility for his gesture, or of paying the price that it involves. In fact those who have power are not interested in the Advent of a new world, but keep on working to keep individuals inside a colourless and uniform mass which must do what they want. The myth of the Aquarius is the myth of intentions at a social level in which the common good has a priority over personal good.
Being one who has many values Aquarius often feels like an internal call and naturally is orientated towards professions that have to do with the social sphere; such a choice is a first step towards re-connecting to the human race.
