ADOLESCENCE from circa 14 to 21 years of age Understanding: the opposition and the second square of Saturn; the first sextile and the first square of Uranus.
This period is extremely important for each one of us. It begins with reaching puberty followed by the crisis of adolescence and ends up with being a youth, in which the first big decisions of life must be faced. From a physical point of view development and sexuality is completed and this pushes our interests towards the outside world, to a need of relationships that mark the first strong detachment from the family. In this period there is the second cycle of Jupiter, which is the planet that firstly channels an individual towards social issues, beginning to create personal opinions for themselves and to integrate into a group. The first Saturn opposition will instead support the independence process, leading to a crisis in relationships with parents who too often tend to keep the boys back and to want to impose their ideas. disagreements are then the order of the day and they push boys towards greater autonomy and a more personal system of values.
This first phase finishes around 21 years of age, when Saturn has the last squaring of the first cycle and Uranus joins in opposition to itself. Saturn reminds us that the hour to leave something that is no longer useful for growth has been reached, while Uranus overloads us with energy to free us from the conditionings pressing us to make important decisions. This is the period of great loves and of a wish to spend much more time with the person we love. There is an end to senior school and the choice of work or higher education. Many people have to leave their own city to study, work, or in case of males, for military service. Uranus accompanies a need for freedom and independence and is shown especially like a drive to act; Saturn instead accompanies the person to introspection, favouring the initiation of many personal contradictions.
This phase of life is therefore the most important one, since we are called upon for the first time to choose, to decide, to make ourselves independent. Almost all young men feel a spasmodic need for physical freedom; of doing things without having to be accountable to the family; and this is what Uranus wants, orientating us towards the outside world, towards doing things and the abandonment of the emotional dependence that still binds us.
Some youths conclude this phase by getting married and starting their family and more often this choice will show its limits in the following years, since the decision has almost always been justified by needs rather than by real and considered choices. Girls especially tend to leave the family to enter into another structure without having assessed what this involves in terms of responsibility and commitment, by following a purely emotional or biological impulse.
In fact, in this phase, the biological drive is at its peak and there will therefore be tendency to enter, also unintentionally, into the reproductive cycle of life.
It is a very delicate age, which asks for courage, while it is usually lived unconsciously. The key to living it successfully depends on the acts of Uranus at its square aspect, the ability of doing away with dependence at an emotional level, as well as the quality of the ideals of life that are pursued. The price of wrong decisions at this age will begin to be paid at around 30 years of age up to 40, age in which a rearrangement is required.
YOUTH about 21 to 30 years of age
The second cycle of Jupiter finishes and the first Saturn cycle finishes
In these nine some years they pool their energies on a work or study level. We leave the parental home and therefore are faced with the responsibilities that an independent life involves. Since this is the end of the second cycle of Jupiter, there is the strongest biological and sexual push and this will be more powerful in women, who tend to become mothers in this age band. The end of the first cycle of Saturn is instead often a messenger of a very critical period: that of the first real balance that regards our affective life and work. We may get a slow sensation that until now we have just been playing, but that life now asks us for much more in terms of responsibility and assertion like it or not. Many people in this age realise that life is generally not very simple and that what we see i has nothing to do with what we dreamt about: it means bills, rent and worries, while many juvenile illusions disappear. Therefore, Saturn leads us straight to the trials of reality. We are called upon to grow up: the world brings many contradictions to us so that as we change we become more exacting: we mature.
At the end of this phase the women who until now have thought only of starting a family rediscover personal ambitions, and outside interests are created and this leads, at times, to a change of view that can badly affect the relationship.
In any case, a first chapter of our life comes to an end, there is the sensation that the past is definitively over and that a new cycle opens: therefore a lot of objectiveness and honesty is asked of us.
it’s the first true an orientation milestone: those who believes what it will be enough to modify something externally will have a harder crisis in the following phase in which they will use many of the cards at their disposal.
ADULT AGE circa 31 to 42 years of age
The purpose of the third cycle of Jupiter; the first square of the second cycle of Saturn; opposition of Uranus to itself; first possible square of Neptune and first possible square of Pluto.
The end of the third cycle of Jupiter tells to us about change in the way of facing our social relations; the problem of the children arises, of their psychological and material needs, and at the same time, the need of doing things to guarantee a future becomes more marked, perhaps purchasing a house or investing money somehow or other.
It is the phase in which life pushes more towards doing things, and from a personal point of view, we are asked to spend a lot more time at home and at work.
Saturn begins to bring the problem of age to our attention: we am certainly not old men, but we are no longer exactly young: we are able to take decisions, but often we no longer decide only by ourselves, but also take into account our family and this fills us with doubts and hesitations. In this period we have already analysed successes and failures in a retrospective sense, even if only Uranus brings us a new and different opportunity and we submit to dilemmas that are not easy to decide.
Those who already have adolescent children face their detachment and this is particularly difficult for those women who are very motherly and who have invested everything in their role. Thus, the adolescence of children often also leads a crisis of the couple’s relationship.
Also many men nevertheless enter into crisis, because they try to exorcize this age by trying to be virile and strong and creating at times situations that are not easy to manage. This tension can lead to the idea of leaving everything and of starting with something more exciting than the usual routine. The consciousness of our age often arrives sharply through the loss of someone close to us. The death of parents can, for example, make us go through a situation of "eradication". These are situations that Uranus produces, that asks for a change and he proposes leaving what we have brought with us from the past, but which does not belong to us anymore. Uranus always requires freedom and choices, but not fictitious or easy choices. Of course, it will not be enough to change husband or wife to absolve
this task: Uranus expects to comply with what we are in our true essence and therefore will not forgive us for any attempt to escape from our responsibilities.
That is why many persons, at the end of this period, have truly revolutionised their whole life (especially if three slow planets join at the same time).
This crisis can be nevertheless a true rebirth, especially if it is imposed on you by Pluto, which makes it clear about ourselves and our objectives and more tolerant towards others and more conscious of our personal limits.
Three very slow planets therefore require us to do something for ourselves and, with the entry into the new phase, they will also eliminate a series of practical commitments to give us more time to leave our last dependences.
MIDDLE AGE circa 42 to 55 years of age
Purpose of the fourth cycle of Jupiter; Saturn opposite to itself; the last square of Saturn (according to the cycle); first square and first opposition of Jupiter (fifth cycle).
This period is usually quieter than the previous one and the one it will be necessary to face next. Since we can see, in fact, the big slow planets are not involved and this avoids disruptive effects of change and profound transformation. It is therefore a phase of acquisition and of consolidation of everything that has changed in the preceding years; a period in which to slowly assimilate all the changes that we have made in our life and, at the same time, to prepare us psychologically for everything that will happen in the following phase in which more powerful equalizations will be required.
Now what we are relaxed enough we should try to weigh things up in relation to different subjects. However, we are enjoying also the first fruits of the decisions that we made.
We must not forget that we are at the heart of the adult phase of life and that this involves the cessation of any pretending and looking at things as they truly are. It will not be enough to ask for respect because of our experience or age: respect is earned in practice and will not have any value if it is not accompanied by a real consciousness of life.
The Saturn opposition leads women to face the problem of the menopause with its hormonal imbalances and consequent psychological problems, accompanied by changes in the expression of their sexuality.
In this period it is a very important not to become inflexible to avoid falling into inactivity, which may be firstly physical and then also psychological.
Women who in the preceding phase have started working or studying again, or new interests have been developed, and they now feel more independent and solid. The same applies to men who have orientated themselves towards not only productive values and a career, who have new vigour and incentives, and both relive a "second youth" Phase.
MATURITY circa 56 to 65 years of age
The last square and subtle fifth cycle of Jupiter; purpose of the second cycle of Saturn; the last squaring of the cycle of Uranus.
This is a new period in which our entire life returns inevitably to crisis, be it at a physical and psychological level. Middle age is finished and here it is guided towards old age, and if we it are not conscious, it will be the mirror that reminds us of it: more and more grey hair, wrinkles that become deeper, etc.
Our children have by now grown up, we start to become grandfathers, and as far our working life is concerned, it comes to an end and we retire. We no longer have commitments of a stable material type: we can therefore use our experience for helping others, or pursuing interests that were previously precluded for lack of time.
If we have invested everything in work without preparing ourselves for this scene exit it is easy to undergo a collapse, since we will not find anything that can fill the gap and will feel completely wrongfooted. If this attitude is not modified it may lead to serious troubles: the impression will be created that life has run out and that we have become completely useless.
This is therefore the reason we absolutely cannot let ourselves be unprepared for this phase; we must find something alternative into which we can channel our energies at the end of the working cycle.
The latest research demonstrate that not only is it possible to maintain an excellent physical ability, but the psychic possibilities can absolutely be increased, as long as we fix reasons and goals. The so called "senility" tends, in fact, to strike those persons who do not accept their age and are go into the tunnel of "regression", milling over regrets that prevent the psychic energy from flowing towards the future. In this age we therefore need to work in the direction of that freedom that finally belongs to us, now that we have completed all our duties towards our relatives, work and the society. Uranus will appear here with all the its strength to conclude the process that will make us emerge as true "individuals" provided with the consciousness that this is the meaning of life.
It is an age, therefore, in which we must face our personal idea of spirituality that will be of great help. Now that we have so much to give, we can help the youngest with real skills in order to overcome those internal and external fights that were dimming the vision of the world, and since we are sheltered from worldly and career ambitions, we can be ourselves and serenely face old age.
