The last quarter Moon is this Saturday at 10:52 pm. Please don’t be surprised if you’re experiencing some confusion or a heady dose of mixed-up emotions that you’re finding hard to place and sort because there’s a strong theme with Neptune’s retrograde in a square with the quarter Moon this weekend. There’ll also be some yods to take into account and the square between Saturn and Uranus is still in play.
Whilst all the transpersonal planets and Mercury are still in retrograde, there seems to be a few aspects that are sticking around and taking quite a while to move along, perhaps giving us a sense that there’s something or certain issues that are lingering or stuck in our lives. It may feel as though we’re wading through life in slow motion while at the same time having so much in the way of quincunx energies to work with or get to cooperate. We’ll talk a little bit more about these quincunx energies later in the article.
The Sun and Moon in Virgo and Gemini
Both the Sun and the Moon will be in mutable signs during the coming last quarter Moon, falling at 24°59’ Virgo (the Sun) and 24°59’ Gemini (the Moon). As per usual during the last quarter Moon, we really are at a peak activity period in the lunar cycle, in which we are coming towards the end of one whilst getting ready to begin the next. During this period, which we’ll see this weekend, we’re clearing out the past month’s closet (well, the closet of the past 28 days, since the last quarter Moon) as we decide which clothes we’re going to keep, which we’re going to throw away and which we’ll decide is still fit for use but will need some readjusting. With both signs ruled by Mercury, who is in retrograde, there could be some changes to the way we think about things or some readjustments in our communication.
Neptune will square the Moon
Now, some more about that confusion that some of us might be experiencing. There will be a square happening between Neptune and the Moon at 24° of Pisces and Gemini, respectively. Off course this means there’ll be an opposition between the Sun and Neptune too, placing the Moon at point at which she’ll be heavily flanked by squares from both the Sun and Neptune. It will be a good idea to pay particular close attention to the way this has us feeling over the weekend, even if it will be difficult to anchor ourselves amidst the chaos of the swaying ocean, swishing this way and that about us. Although the planets may take us for a turbulent ride, the lighthouse that guides us can always be found somewhere within and this is perhaps the very thing that Neptune is urging us to find, our inner guidance.
Jupiter will oppose Mercury
Jupiter will still be in opposition with Mercury, which will work to increase or dramatise anything that is signified by the planet Mercury in our lives. To top it off, both planets will be in retrograde motion, so there could be some real snags to take care of or smooth over. There may be delays, perhaps some accidents or possibly even some some lightning fast advancements or expansions, but who knows which way these will take us or into which adventure wormhole we will be sent to travel down next. One thing is for sure, it will likely have something to do with the past, with re-thinking, re-viewing or re-defining our faiths and beliefs regarding certain spiritual or religious aspects of our lives. Another strong theme here could well be in education, in teaching and in learning.
Saturn and Vesta will oppose Ceres
The main aspect here will be the square between Uranus and Saturn, which has really been going on for over a year now (on and off), but weekend, at the time of the last quarter Moon, the square will be joined by both Ceres and Vesta. As Ceres opposes Vesta at 25° and 24° Leo and Aquarius, Vesta will conjoin Saturn (also opposing Ceres) and the three will all be squared by Uranus. The changes that we make at this time in our lives will need to be fully aligned and in tune with our own spiritual flame, which is represented by Vesta and they will need to be made with the purpose of nourishing our growth and well-being (Ceres). Adding to this we have our sustainability for the future in line with our society’s morals and principles and our own personal freedoms within our business structures and workplaces.
It’s a Yod-tastic Event!
There will be two yods at the time of the last quarter Moon (between Chiron, the South Node and Venus and Pluto, the Moon and Ceres). A yod is a pattern that is formed when we have one planet (at the apex) in a quincunx aspect with two other planets, both of who are forming a sextile with one another. Two yods at the same time will certainly represent energies that are incongruent with each other. This means there will be a lot of energies perhaps both within us and in our lives that aren’t mixing well or seeming to add up. While it’s thought the yod can be harnessed by some this usually takes a lot of practice and mind, so three temporary yods at a such peak time in the lunar cycle could spell some difficulties or a period of uncomfortable uncertainty.
