The last quarter Moon this month will take place on Friday the 19th at 05:36 am in the UK. Now, we’ll still be experiencing Saturnian themes, yet the push for transformations will be much greater and we may be forced to look at life through a lens that helps us remain more logical than before. With lots of new experiences flooding in creating shifting perceptions over the past months, now the push for change lies within ourselves and it’s up to us to make that extra effort to fully embrace the developments and adjustments that the universe has been urging us to make.

Although there’ll be some tense alignments during the coming last quarter Moon on Friday, this is nothing like the tension we may have experienced towards the end of July as Mars aligned with Uranus and the North Node. There may be an overall feeling of peace as we decide on the new directions we wish to take next between now and the coming cycle after the New Moon on Saturday the 27th.

The Sun and Moon in Leo and Taurus

Both the Sun and the Moon will be in fixed signs during the coming last quarter Moon, falling at 26°12’ Leo (the Sun) and 26°12’ Taurus (the Moon). This means their relationship is built on a fixed square alignment and they’ll be at odds with each other in their position in the zodiac. Signs who are square to one-another often have similar ways of relating and responding to the world, yet at the same time this very thing about them can make them clash. This could create an uneasiness this Friday that’s experienced as a need to escape and what better aspect is there for this than Mercury opposite Neptune, also occurring in the chart of the last quarter Moon this Friday.

Mercury will oppose Neptune

Relieving some of that Sun-Moon square tension this Friday, there will be an applying opposition between Mercury in Virgo and Neptune in Pisces. Both will be in their sign of domicile, so will be operating from a place of potency and strength. While Mercury will trine the Moon, Neptune will sextile her, forming an easy point of access for expression and this can take the form of many things such as daydreaming, artistic writing, story telling or even an ability to visualise a more-desired representation of a truth that is hard to come to terms with. Either way, this can be an escape route to feeling emotionally and existentially stuck this Friday. At the same time, the Moon, Uranus and Mars are actually at a point where they can help relieve some of that tension within the Mercury-Neptune opposition, so if you are feeling a little lost or taken away in your dream world and prefer to have your feet firmly on the ground, there’s an abundance of grounding energy with the three in Taurus.

Venus will trine Jupiter

Venus will still be forming her wonderful trine to Jupiter. Although she will now be separating from the aspect, we will still be able to experience the effects of this, which can mean social life is more sweet and enjoyable in general. People may be typically more agreeable, cooperative and present in social situations and both legal matters and all things relating to faith and higher education could receive a similar boost of harmonious energy. With Venus now in Leo we may be doubly expressive in love, especially whilst she’s also touched by Jupiter. The only advice I would give at this time would be to watch spending and finances more carefully than usual because we may be more prone to splashing out before thinking during such an alignment.

The Sun will Oppose Saturn

While the Sun is in opposition to Saturn during the last quarter Moon on Friday, this will test our resolve in several ways. The Sun governs the core of our confidence and our personal energy signature, which is responsible for so much of our natural creativity, yet with Saturn’s opposition, this can have a tendency to somewhat dampen these within us with a general restrictive and heavy feeling that is difficult to shift. What Saturn is doing here however, is asking us to pay close attention to our more practical responsibilities and so we may be required to strike a balance between our sense of freedom in creativity and the small, more mundane things we also need to take care of.

There’ll be a Grand Earth Trine
