The New Moon in Pisces this Wednesday, the 2nd of March
Edited by Gemma

This New Moon will occur at 5:35 pm UT at 12°06’ of Pisces this month. This New Moon may have a dreamy and enchanting Piscean feel about it, yet at the same time it could be important for eliciting changes within us, both personally and at a social and political level.
While Jupiter and Pisces will be very potent at this time, Pluto will be too and this may prove to be a time that’s a little bit edgy for some of us, especially as Mars will be conjoining Pluto.

However, overall this New Moon should mark the start of a new healing journey as Chiron, our wounded healer, will also factor into play. With Mars and Pluto trining the North Node, there may be a lot of bringing up of hidden themes on a large scale, which we may have to meet with some soberness and reality.

We need to prepare ourselves for all that lies ahead, especially if we have some healing to go through or have been meaning to start these journeys yet for some reason we have been postponing this. This could be the astrology that kick-starts a healing journey in many of us, as there really isn’t a place to hide under this New Moon. Read on to find out what will be happening in more detail, from an astrological perspective.

The New Moon will Approach Jupiter

This New Moon’s approach to Jupiter in Pisces will add some real ‘oomph’ to the start of this next lunar cycle, as we will be encouraged to dream as big as we can while keeping our hopes up. We will also be nudged towards delving right into our own worlds of fantasy, as Jupiter will also be fast-approaching Neptune in Pisces and when these get together, the sky really is the limit. Reality fades as far as our relationships with others are concerned and we may become much more emotionally soft and squishy. We may also strongly identify with the empath, the spiritual guru or the mindless wanderer at this time.

The New Moon form a Semi-square with Pluto

The aforementioned Pisces, Jupiter and Neptune energy, it seems, will be at odds with Pluto. Pluto is still in head-strong and capable Capricorn and will be forming a semi-square aspect to the Sun and the Moon. This will be sure to create a little bit of tension, especially on the day of the New Moon, as we will be being pulled in two directions at once. Not only is Pluto still in Capricorn, but he will also be tightly conjoining Mars, also in Capricorn at 27°. When Pluto and Mars join up, there can be lots of hidden anger rising to the surface. Anger that has been simmering or pushed right down can rise at any time under this transit, or we may feel this is an appropriate time to act out or express long-term resentments towards our loved ones.

This happens simultaneously with our emotional selves wandering through a dream-like state or with our sense of identity in a world of fantasy. What is happening here, is essentially this Pisces energy is relaxing us and opening us up to the potentiality of the release of a lot of hidden trauma or old wounds.

Pluto, Mars and Venus will trine the North Node

Pluto and Mars will both also be conjoining Venus in Capricorn, so matters relating to relationships are highlighted here. However, the expressions of Venus herself will be somewhat thwarted or restricted through the energies of zodiac sign Capricorn, whereas the expressions of Mars will be supported and much more focussed through the very same sign. This is because Mars is exalted in Capricorn and is therefore strengthened. Mars here has so much energetic potential whereas Venus may struggle to come forth and smooth the edges of the Mars – Pluto conjunction.

As this conjunction between the three planets, Pluto, Mars and Venus will be trining the North Node, so this will facilitate the energies in our personal lives and on an international, political scale. Socially and politically there may be great changes that can have an effect on us all globally and at the time of the Full Moon on the 18th of March, Mercury in detriment will have moved on to activate the same spot of the zodiac occupied by the Sun, the Moon and Jupiter. There may at this point be a lot of talk on all that has transpired with perhaps even some attempted cover-ups.

Saturn will Conjoin Mercury in Aquarius

All the while there will be a lovely conjunction between Saturn and Mercury in Aquarius during the New Moon. With Saturn at 18°59’ and Mercury at 19°03’, they are so close that you might think a great dose of logic and reason will oversee all that transpires during this coming cycle. However, they are otherwise unaspected, apart from the wide square they will form with the nodal axis. This means they are more or less a stand alone signature in the chart, while the other clusters of planets battle it out (for lack of a better phrase) over the spotlight. If you do have any planets between 17° - 21° the signs Aquarius, Libra or Gemini, this aspect may help you out tremendously, instead.
