This Full Moon in Taurus on the 19th will be much more energetically potent than most Full Moons simply because it’s a partial eclipse. There has been some tense alignments this month in the run-up to this Full Moon, so it could be that this Lunar Eclipse will serve as a release (or an explosion) for some, as all those tensions call for their freedom. This is what the Full Moon represents; it represents a release of burden, especially when there has been tense aspects.
To have a quick recap of these tense aspects, we had the New Moon in Scorpio on the 4th of November, which very closely opposed to Uranus as Mars had also begun moving into Scorpio. Then on the 10th we had the Mars-Mercury square Saturn-Moon alignment. Now Uranus is still in play as he directly opposes Mars at the time of the eclipse. Read on to find out about some of the other Full Moon’s aspects.
The Taurus - Scorpio Axis
The Full Moon eclipse will occur across the Taurus - Scorpio axis this month. Both Taurus and Scorpio are fixed signs, which means they are both stubborn. They favour stability and security. At the same time, this is the axis of value and resources, both personal (Taurus) and shared (Scorpio). Therefore many of the themes in our lives this month, especially in the run up to the Full Moon, might be centred around finances, material security and wealth.
The Moon will Trine Pluto in Capricorn
Both the Moon and Pluto are also associated money, yet both are associated in very different ways. The Moon is a very strong significator of the sentiments of the world’s population and this is reflected in the fluctuations of the stock markets and money in general as it relates to the people. Pluto is short for Plutocracy and is hence related to market capitalisation and the power of money and wealth. As Scorpio’s ruler, Pluto also points towards shared finances. With a strong Scorpio theme this month having had our New Moon landing in Scorpio and Mars moving through Scorpio, this means Pluto will play a significant role. With Pluto in trine to the Moon, we might see some pay-offs or benefits for those who made financial power-plays around the time of the New Moon and beyond.
The Full Moon Eclipse will square Jupiter in Aquarius
Jupiter is often a planet who dives in to save us with luck or the great burst of energy we need to take our ambitions to the next level, yet if he is in a square alignment to another planet or point, there is sometimes danger of excess. With Jupiter squaring the Full Moon eclipse, this is already a powerful alignment in itself, so this may be a sign of potential surplus or extremes of some things in our lives. Whether this happens around us or in the public sphere is yet to be seen, but perhaps this depends on whether we have personal planets or point at or around the 27th degree of the fixed signs (Taurus, Scorpio, Leo or Aquarius).
The Full Moon will oppose Mercury
Mercury will still be in a powerful position at the time of the Full Moon eclipse as he will be opposing the Moon (while conjoining the Sun). He conjoined Mars at the time of the New Moon, he squared Saturn as he became exact with Mars on the 10th and now he is still creating Mercurial shifts in the atmosphere’s energy. Will much of this Full Moon’s presence be filled with ideologies involving logic and mutable positions of play on the chessboard of life?
Mars will Oppose Uranus
With Mars opposing Uranus at the time of the lunar eclipse, there may be an added element of drama in the air this week. Furthermore, this specific opposition (between Mars and Uranus) has been associated many times with accidents and mishaps, so I would just like to reach out to everyone to give the general advise; please don’t do anything too dangerous, spontaneous or hasty at the time of the Full Moon. Hopefully all will be ok. We do have Venus in trine to Ura-nus, while sextiling Mars, so her beneficial ambience of grace may help to smooth things out.
The Full Moon will Conjoin the Moon’s North Node
Although we already know there will be a conjunction between the North Node and the Moon, especially if we know enough about astrology to know a lunar eclipse is a part of this conjunc-tion, there are other meanings behind this specific alignment. Whatever happens at this time will provide a boost for the direction of society towards a place of evolution. Sometimes ten-sion periods followed by volcanic releases of pressure are needed in order to see the changes we need to experience in order to grow.
Mercury will Square Jupiter
Mercury in a square alignment with Jupiter will mean there will be plenty to talk about and a lot of active networking going on this month. In fact, communicating with a greater audience might be one way we can release some of this month’s tensions at the time of the Full Moon. I encourage it as it’s a safe way to release, even if someone might be offended in the process!
