An Overview of The Month of November in Astrology
Edited by Gemma

November 2021

Hi there and welcome to November! It’s finally Scorpio season and having just celebrated our spooky Samhain, it’s now time to look forward to bonfire night on the 5th and maybe even that holiday at the end of the year that I will not yet name. While the Sun is still shining a little, the air is now becoming quite cool and crisp and we can begin to imagine how cold it’s going to be in a couple of months time.

There are lots of new things happening this month. As usual we begin the month with the New Moon, which falls in Scorpio this time on the 4th of November. Then Venus is set to enter Capricorn on the 5th, while on the same day Mercury will enter Scorpio. On the 10th there will be some tensions in the air as Mars and Mercury both square Saturn and the Moon and then we will have a partial lunar eclipse in the sign of the bull Taurus on the 19th.
The Sun will enter Sagittarius on the 22nd, followed by Mercury entering Sagittarius on the 24th.

Read on to find out more about what all of this means.

The New Moon at 13° Scorpio on the 4th of November

It’s a New Moon in Scorpio and while Mars has only just entered Scorpio himself towards the end of October, this may bring with the New Moon quite a boost of energy. With Venus at the anaretic degree of Sagittarius at the time of the New Moon, it seems we will all be feeling rather determined, especially where finances and the futures of our careers are concerned. With Venus ruling over finances, she will be getting ready to move on into Capricorn the day after, which is a sign of building for the future and material sustenance. The New Moon will directly oppose Uranus in retrograde, with only a 7 minute of arc orb between them, so we can also expect some unexpected events, especially where the public’s sentiment and digital technology are concerned.

Venus Enters Capricorn on the 5th of November

Venus has been in Sagittarius since the 7th of October, so we may have super confident since then socially and in our relationships, with less of an inclination to hold grudges for very long. However, when she enters Capricorn on the 5th, this could change somewhat, as we may become a little more reserved and down-to-earth socially and in our closest relationships. Instead, focus could turn more to work, money and how we are going to sustain ourselves over the coming few years, especially after some of the increases we have seen in things like property and energy prices lately.

Mercury enters Scorpio on the 5th of November

Now that Mercury will be moving into Scorpio, we may perhaps be able to look forward to a time when we will hold back a little more on verbalising our thoughts. I mean, it’s always great to feel verbally free and fair during debates with our loved ones but once we have all of this out of our system, it’s nice to have a time of rest, both mentally and from talking a lot. When Mercury is in Scorpio, we may be more inclined to think things over – plenty – before blurting things out. We may also spend more time investigating all the little nuances of our relationships, other people and our day-to-day lives. Mercury in Scorpio has a way of seeing deep into the heart of any situation without needing to hash it over it with others first. In fact, we may even find ourselves having more complex conversations between us and our family members without even opening our mouths. Doesn’t this sound like bliss?

Mars squares Saturn on the 10th of November

Mars will square Saturn, which means that many of us may feel stuck or trapped within circumstances we have no control over, or we may simply feel lacking in confidence or the ‘get up and go’ we need to perform all of our usual daily tasks. Additionally, Mercury will be exactly conjoining Mars, so although there will be a huge amount of mental energy lighting up our intellects on this day, it’s likely to be controlled and subdued and perhaps even spent on investigating the obscure. The Moon will also be conjoining Saturn at around 4:15 pm, joining him to square Mercury and Mars, so there are likely to be some emotional tensions, yet we may suppress these or even detach from them with the Moon moving through Aquarius.

There’s a partial lunar eclipse at 27° Taurus on the 19th of November

The Full Moon partial eclipse on the 19th will be squared by Jupiter, so there will likely be a feel good factor to the eclipse. With Mercury also squaring Jupiter, expressions will be plentiful and it’s quite likely we will feel more like socialising at this time. This can be especially true with Mars in sextile to Venus and simultaneous opposition to Uranus in Taurus. We may find excitement wherever we go. Finally, asteroid Vesta will be exactly conjoining the South Node, so if we have missed any opportunities to hold up our personal sacred flame of spirituality in the past, now will be a perfect time to re-visit these and make the most of their re-appearance.
