The New Moon this month will occur at 10:54 pm BST, on the 25th of September and at 02°48’ of Libra. This month, our New Moon carries a strong theme of expansion, love and reviews of how we communicate in matters of the heart. We are concerned with a new cycle in which we can work towards reaching new levels and heights in terms of our health, especially in romance and within relationships.

There may be some work to do as Pluto begs us for change, transformation and growth and the promise is it will all be worthwhile so it’s time to strap up our working boots and get down to business. At the same time, we have the Saturn-Uranus square also begging for growth, in which there is a desire for expansion only this time, freedoms are a must as we figure out ways to disrupt the structures (and fears) we have held dear for such a long time in favour of greater and more progressive concepts and builds. When we take this upon ourselves as opposed to allowing the planets to swoop in and decide our fates for us, we are in much greater control of our destinies.

The New Moon Lands in Libra

This New Moon lands at 02°48’ of Libra and we’re now gaining some traction into Lovely Libra season. The Sun moved into Libra on the 23rd of September, just two days prior to the New Moon and we’re now entering into a period in which it will be ever more important to harmonise ourselves and our identities with our surroundings. Clarity, balance and peace of mind are so important now, as we seek to experience and grow from the love within ourselves and the love we share with others. An even stronger desire to smooth out any difficult frustrations or situations we’ve been experiencing with others falls upon us now and with the Sun and Moon in such a reasonable air sign, we may wish to do this with our idealistic intentions of open communication and respect.

The New Moon will oppose Jupiter

The New Moon’s opposition with Jupiter shows us a promise that whatever transpires at the time of the New Moon, it will be the start of an adventure that has us treading new ground to inevitably lead us on to planes of existence that are meant to expand our horizons. We may reach higher states of consciousness, grow in our awareness, increase our income or become thirsty to begin a whole new project. This can depend on whichever houses both the New Moon and Jupiter will fall in for you, but hopefully it will be something positive, whatever it may be. Jupiter is disposed to Mars in Gemini whilst the New Moon disposes to Venus in Virgo. Synchronistically, the New Moon also conjoins both Mercury and Venus so we may find we need to reach a certain balance in our lives through the start of an academic course, via learning something new or by expanding our knowledge base. With Saturn still in his square alignment with Uranus, for many of us this could be for the sake of business growth or employment.

The New Moon will conjoin Mercury and Venus

With the New Moon forming a conjunction with Mercury and Venus, there will be themes closely relating to these over the coming three weeks, at least until the last quarter Moon on the 17th of October. Themes that will be coming up and taking root right now are money, romance, communications in romance, the navigation of communication difficulties in romance and reviewing that sense of service we have in the name of love and what this is all about for us. With Venus and Mercury in Virgo there will be lots of critical analysis and solution-seeking for the sake of positive growth and moving ahead with all the right tools we need in order to make more progress in the future. When Venus moves into Libra on the 29th of September the focus will then shift to pleasing the other and maintaining balance and peace within relationships.

Venus-Mercury will trine Pluto

Venus and Mercury’s trine to Pluto means that we are more than ready to create the changes we need to make and these are changes that have been pushing and brewing within us for a long while now. Pluto’s retrograde has a way of bringing to the surface hidden treasures that are rooted deep within the past and although the experience of metamorphosis can prove to be difficult, it is also a heavenly and cleansing experience.

Venus will oppose Neptune

Venus’ opposition to Neptune, who is still retrograde, even further bolsters the interpretation that this New Moon will be about romance, money or both. Whilst there may be some elements to the themes that are now unfolding for us at the time of this New Moon that may have us feeling confused, what we do know is that we can start afresh with a new opportunity for looking at old problems or issues in a new light. From this new perspective we can take a much deeper look into our spiritual habits, our boundaries and the way we merge with those around us. We may even feel the need to add come new principles and morals to our daily spiritual practices, especially in terms of romance and money.
