The Astrology of August 2022 |

August is officially holiday month for many and it’s a time of celebration for the majority of shiny, happy Leos out there (although many are also born in late July). We can usually witness a Leos with a radiant smile on their face or at least a look of sweet warmth for a camera, even if they’re having a bad day. Some famous Leo we can wish a happy birthday to this zodiac season are Sandra Bullock, Mick Jagger, Helen Mirren and our lovely, unique vocalist Kate Bush. To start the month of August Mercury will enter into the sign of Virgo on the 4th, followed by Venus’ ingress into Leo on the 11th. We will then have the Full Moon in Aquarius on the 12th of August, followed by Mars’ entrance into Gemini on the 20th. The Sun will enter Virgo on the 23rd, welcoming Virgo season and Uranus will then turn retrograde on the 24th. Mercury will enter Libra on the 26th and then finally we will see the New Moon occur in Virgo on the 27th. What does all this mean from an astrological stand-point? Read on to learn more. The 4th of August: Mercury enters Virgo As Mercury enters Virgo, he’ll be comfortable in his domicile. Here, we’ll often see an improvement in our memories and abilities for logical reasoning. Mercury in Virgo is a placement which likes to analyse all that’s around in a sequential, step-by-step process. There’s also a desire to learn complex technological topics, starting from the basics to form a solid foundation and gradually working towards the advanced aspects of a topic. The 11th of August: Venus enters Leo When Venus enters Leo, she will join the Sun in the warm-hearted sign she rules over. Having spent just over three weeks in Cancer, in which we perhaps experienced some ups and downs in matters of romance, we should now begin to feel more conviction and direction in this area. Venus in Leo romance can be quite expressive and forthright, which can lead to lots of fun both in romance and in our social lives. The only caution I would suggest is to keep an eye on your spending, especially if you don’t have much money to spend. The 12th of August: The Full Moon in Aquarius The Full Moon at 19°21’ Aquarius will conjoin Saturn’s retrograde, so we may be opened up to sensitive topics regarding moral standards and principles around this time. Have we been acting responsibly in the name of emotions lately and how can we help others in a practical way that will help support our connections with them? There’s a fairly tense alignment with the Moon also squaring Uranus, Mars and the North Node so, despite Venus’ recent ingress into Leo, we may not be inclined to showy displays of affection during this Full Moon period. There will also be a lot of personal power and strength on display with Mars closing right into his trine with Pluto. The 20th of August: Mars enters Gemini When Mars enters Gemini our focus on projects and day-to-day tasks might decrease a little as we find ourself more easily distracted or in desire of a greater array of stimuli to keep us entertained. This is likely to be true for both work-projects and during play and reading for fun. We may be more flirtatious with life and playful in general. Having said this, Mercury is now opposing Neptune, so the effect of this could be to add a sense of disorientation and confusion into the mix. I would refrain from taking any risky gambles for the time being! The 23rd of August: Sun enters Virgo Let’s wish a happy birthday to all the Virgos out there as Virgo season is now underway. The Sun will now neatly square Mars, potentially increasing ego-drives whilst flaring up some frustrations and anger. Both planets are in mutable signs, so there should thankfully be some adaptability and as they’re both Mercury-ruled, perhaps some communicative expressions hence release from this will follow, too. The 24th of August: Uranus turns Retrograde During the Uranus retrograde, we’ll be challenged to make changes, especially those we have been resisting in our lives so far this year. If we don’t make changes, we’re in danger of digging ourself into a deeper rut and stagnating and the retrograde is often here to remind us of those opportunities we’ve missed or how our resistance hasn’t so-far worked in our favour. The 26th of August: Mercury enters Libra When Mercury enters Libra, we’re often inclined to communicate more gracefully whilst listening to every side of an argument if we become embroiled in one. Fairness is key at this time. We may also be more attracted to verbal arts such as poetry, creative writing and monologues. The 27th of August: The New Moon in Virgo The New Moon will be at 04°03 of Virgo. The Sun squares Mars at the same almost exactly now, so this New Moon may be particularly energised with creativity and fluidity of being. This is further supported with Mars’ sextile to Jupiter and Uranus’ conjunction with the North Node. He will be searching for a material outlet and great fundamental shifts in his square to Saturn.
