The secondary progressed chart is a very popular subsidiary chart amongst astrologers to use, which can supplement the natal chart really well. The progressed chart can add a whole new world of information. Mainly used to determine the inner state of the client as opposed to external circumstances, it can offer deeper perspectives of what it happening within the emotional climate at the time of the reading.

In general terms, the Moon is the most important planet to look at when reading the progressed chart, because while it’s the most active, the outer planets (Jupiter through Pluto) are less so. The Moon changes sign every 2.5 years because in the transit chart she changes every 2.5 days and each day is taken as a year. In Aries

You may find yourself in some challenging situations and possibly even in conflicts with others at a greater frequency than before. Now time you will become more patient and your desire to take on larger projects are likely to benefit you for the long term. You become more introverted and withdrawn from the greater outside world than you were when your progressed Moon was in Aries and you consider how you can improve every aspect of life whilst doing this.

In Gemini

This is a time in which you will desire a much greater scope of connection with the world around you, so you will start to branch and reach out socially. You will also gather lots of information from the world and think about ways in which you can begin to share as much of it as you can in return. Fun may also be more important.

In Cancer

Your attention will now turn towards home and family, as the information rich world you lived in during your progressed Moon in Gemini has now become a world of nurturing and empathic understanding. You now become more concerned with the safety and security of yourself and those closest to you and your intuition is heightened.

In Leo

You have a strong desire towards creativity and in releasing your creative endeavours out into the world for the benefit of society. You may feel like a novice at times, but your need to be seen and heard propel you forwards and out into the limelight much more than previously. You feel enthusiastic and ready to learn from criticism.

In Virgo

After following your instinctual creative urges for 2.5 years when your progressed Moon was in Leo, you desire to focus more on the tiny details of your creations. You are now ready to retreat inwards again, this time into your world of meticulous thought as you focus on improving every area of life with great effort and perfectionism.

In Libra

It is now a time you will want to become more of a social butterfly than when your progressed Moon was in Virgo and social grace and finesse will seem much more important to you during this time. Your focus will be on the natural flow and mindfulness of life and your communications with friends will become much more frequent.

In Scorpio

You may crave intensity in relationships and begin to shy away from being a social butterfly in favour of these. You’ll become much more emotionally intelligent and bold, as you won’t falter if certain structures in your life begin to fall due to this. Many strong, long-term relationships begin for those who are in this stage of life.

In Sagittarius

Your desire for intensity wanes now and is replaced with a strong desire to expand your horizons in many ways. You simply want to experience new things first hand and explore territories you’ve never explored before. You have your sights set on places, mindsets, values and beliefs and will need greater independence to honour this.

In Capricorn

As you return inwards again now with the Yin energies of the Capricorn Moon, you become focussed on the order of things within your own home and personal realm. It’s now a time of mentally sorting through all you have learnt during the last period. You may even fear expansion at this time while security becomes more important.

In Aquarius

In Pisces
