It’s the official holiday season month, as it’s finally December! This is very much in line with the spirit of Sagittarius, isn’t it?! They just love a good holiday or a reason to celebrate. We’re also coming up to the end of the year now, so you can look out for my articles on reflecting on 2021 and what’s in store for us all for 2022! But first, what is going on this month, in December? This will be quite a busy month, as far as astrological transits go. The month begins with Neptune turning direct in Pisces and then we’ll have a Total Solar Eclipse at on the 4th. On the 13th we will have two planetary ingresses on the same day, with Mars into Sagittarius and Mercury into Capricorn. Our Full Moon this month will fall on the 19th at 27° Gemini and on the 21st, we’ll have the Sun entering Capricorn. Saturn will square Uranus for the final time this year on the 24th and Jupiter will enter Pisces on the 29th. Neptune Turns Direct on the 1st Neptune has been retrograde for 5 months and will finally turn direct again in the 1st of the month. The veil of deception tends to lift during the retrograde, opening us up to harsh realities, so things may have been difficult as we have had to make changes according to this. As the planet of illusions and daydreams turns direct now, we may now go back to our usual state of bliss. We may re-find our empathy levels and comfort zone in life and we may bring back our mojo in all our artistic pursuits. The Total Solar Eclipse on the 4th Our total solar eclipse on the 4th of December will occur at 12° Sagittarius, so if you have any planets at or around 12° of a mutable sign (Sagittarius, Pisces, Gemini or Virgo), this eclipse may affect you more than most. You can prepare yourself for new adventures and experiences, as Sagittarius brings new opportunities to your life and sets you on new pursuits. You’ll likely find something to pursue for yourself, be it a dream or an ambition. You might do this via networking, with Mercury in conjunction with the eclipse and with the Sagittarius hallmark of a positive outlook! Mars Enters Sagittarius on the 13th When Mars enters Sagittarius, we might collectively go from a world-wide brooding bunch to a society who desires fun and time out in nature whenever possible. Sagittarius is a freedom-loving sign and when Mars, the planet of action and impulse is here, we may want to roam whenever possible. Perhaps we can use this opportunity to break old cycles in our lives or go to places we have so far only wished to go! Mercury enters Capricorn on the 13th When Mercury enters Capricorn, there’ll be a time of ultra rational thinking, as this is what happens when planets fall into Capricorn. Because Mercury is our planet of thoughts and logical reasoning, the rational edge of Capricorn will be welcomed into our mental processes and our minds will switch on to planning and solution mode. This might be welcomed, because Mercury was in detriment in Sagittarius and was perhaps therefore the culprit of our scattered communications and thwarted attempts at organising our lives previously. The Full Moon on the 19th The Full Moon on the 19th will be across the axis of learning and experience, with Jupiter in a neat trine to the Moon. This means the payout from all we have learned since the Solar Eclipse this month will be good and generous to us. Jupiter will more than likely lend us a sense of happiness and freedom, which will be all we need for the Christmas holidays! Venus will conjoin Pluto in Capricorn, so love will be solid and substantial. The Sun enters Capricorn on the 21st The Sun entering Capricorn will spark an advent of preparations for both the holidays and the new year, with many people of course writing a list for what their new year’s resolutions will be. This will happen on the same day as the winter solstice in the northern hemisphere, which has always been known to be a pivotal point of the year for astrologers, as the Earth reaches her maximum tilt away from the Sun. Saturn squares Uranus on the 24th When Saturn squares Uranus, it will be the 3rd time this square will have happened this year and it will be the last time before Saturn moves on from Uranus completely at his point in this Saturn-Uranus synodic cycle. This can be a point of crisis, as our freedoms are seemingly at odds with our sense of responsibility and we look for ways to harmonise them, especially in career and business matters. Jupiter enters Pisces on the 29th When Jupiter re-enters Pisces after having been retrograde and then turning direct on the 17th of October, he will be back in his sign of domicile. This means Jupiter’s effect will be strengthened. I advise everybody to look at which house of their natal chart Pisces is on the cusp of, to get a better understanding of where Jupiter will be activated in your life.
