October is guaranteed to be a fresh and fabulous month! It’s Libra season and we are now officially in Autumn, which began at the Autumn equinox on Wednesday the 22nd of September. This was the very same day the Sun moved into Libra. Autumn is the favourite season of many (including myself), because it just has that really fresh vibe where the air feels crisp and magical, as the falling leaves add so many warm colour tones to an already delightful scenery. We also have Halloween and the end of year holiday season to look forward to.

Actually, there are many new things happening this month. Not only do we have the New Moon in Libra on the 6th of October, but we also have three planets turning direct! Pluto will turn direct at 24° of Capricorn on the 6th, while Saturn turns direct at 7° Aquarius on the 11th and we have Mercury turning direct at 10° Libra (yay). This means life is likely to become both faster and smoother for most of us by the end of the month as it’s ‘all systems go’ in the heavens and on Earth for us.

Venus will enter Sagittarius on the 7th and we have our Full Moon in energetic and fiery Aries on the 20th. Then, towards the end of the month we will have both the Sun and Mars entering Scorpio on the 23rd and the 30th. Read on to find out more about all that is going on this month.

The New Moon at 13° Libra on the 6th of October

The New Moon we have coming up in Libra on the 6th will mean we are all about that diplomacy and peaceable interaction. We may find conflict is much harder to bear than usual, as this Sun – Moon conjunction opens up a space for us to set new intentions to get along better with our friends and family than we have done over the past year or two. Hopefully these intentions will become permanent. Mars will be exactly conjoining the New Moon in Libra, so although this won’t be the best time for releasing frustrations and anger, the essence of our inner spiritual warrior may be potent at this time, guiding us in the right direction.

Venus Enters Sagittarius on the 7th of October

Venus has been in Scorpio since the 10th of September, so we may have seen some passions flaring in our relationships with some sheer determination and possible frustration when it comes to finances. However, when she enters Sagittarius on the 7th, this could lighten the mood in a big way as the sense of freedom and buoyancy of this sign is never one to be missed. We may simply feel more positive in our relationships in general while being more open to spending and letting our hair down in social situations. We all need this as it has been quite a stressful month in September with Venus squaring Saturn and Mercury turning retrograde on the 27th.

Mercury Turns Direct at 10° Libra on the 18th of October

I’m sure we’ll all be waiting for Mercury to turn direct throughout the month, right up until the 18th. If you’ve been putting off signing any contracts or making any major purchases or decisions due to the retrograde, you can go ahead with these after the 18th. The Mercury retrograde is notoriously a time when we need to be extra careful with these things, especially if they have anything to do with cars or transport. The Full Moon at 27° Aries on the 20th of October

The Full Moon this month will be in Aries while loosely squaring Pluto in Capricorn, so we may have more changes and deep transformations to look forward to, especially seeing as we will have Mars conjoining the Sun and opposing the Moon during the lunation. With Mars squaring Pluto tightly, he will provide that extra push of energy and determination for us at this time, inciting us to take action to do whatever it takes to survive or ‘get where we need to be’.

The Sun Enters Scorpio on the 23rd of October

The Sun will enter Scorpio this month on the 23rd of October, so we’ll be saying goodbye to our mindful identification with peace, decorum and subtlety that is the signature trio of Libra. Instead we will be looking for change and we’ll no longer be holding ourselves back from fulfilling all the things our growth mindset is urging us on to do.

Mars Enters Scorpio on the 30th of October

When Mars enters Scorpio on the 30th of October, people are more likely to be heading forwards with greater speed towards their dreams and desires, most especially after a month of planets turning direct such as Pluto, Saturn and Mercury. We’ve seen some general indecision and even some built up internal stress (especially psychological) over the past month in relationships and other areas but now we can expect shifts that we’re all more than ready for. In place of this we’ll have decisiveness and directness coupled with sheer drive to succeed and personal power.
