What Does the Coming New Moon in Virgo Have in Store for Us?

This week’s New Moon will be at 14° Virgo while in the same sign as Mars, who will be at 24° Virgo. This is likely to be such a busy time for everybody, not only because we are nearing the end of the summer season, but because many of our sweet little children are getting ready to go back to school. As is often the case with the Virgo New Moon of the year, there is so much preparation, planning and organising. If you don’t already have something to plan and organise, surely something will be bound to come up, because the New Moon energy is about bringing things in and that something is going to be very Virgo!

With the New Moon occurring in Virgo, focus may also be primarily on health and well-being, as we realise that having so many new things to do can become an extra stressor within our lives and potentially cause us some emotional disruption. This is why it’s super important we keep an eye on our energy levels and make sure we take some time out whenever we can. We may also want to try a new exercise routine or healthy eating plan, just so we can feel as good as we possibly can.

The New Moon will Trine Uranus

The New Moon happens when the Sun and the Moon conjoin at the same place in the zodiac, so with this aspect to Uranus we will have the Sun trine Uranus and the Moon trine Uranus together. Under Sun trine Uranus, we simply have to be genuine to ourselves, however unique or individual this may be. Our style shines just the way it is and we tend not to even question this with Uranus, as we’re comfortable being different. The late David Bowie had this aspect in his natal chart (see photo). Under Moon trine Uranus, we tend to have sudden sparks of creative genius and heightened intuition and we may become more interested in occult subjects. We also have an ability to detach from most emotional situations to gain a reasonable and objective standpoint.

Mars will Trine Pluto

Pluto is known as the higher octave of Mars, so these two planets are already operating similarly; Mars is our dynamic action while Pluto is our drive and will to succeed. When we have these coming together to form a trine aspect, the result is that they energise each other and a great amount of passion and desire is created. With the trine aspect, energies flow easily and readily between the two planets, as they switch and share their processes and ideas congruently. With these planets in Virgo and Capricorn, we may want to succeed at all costs, especially in all our practical and material endeavours (such as our career and achievements).

More about Tuesday’s New Moon in Virgo

Venus will Trine Jupiter

With Venus trining Jupiter on Tuesday, while Jupiter continues to retrograde deeper into the sign of Aquarius, we will simply have to do something creative and perhaps this will be a whole new thing as a spontaneous expression of the Uranus trine to the New Moon. Perhaps it will be new, yet we have been thinking about it for some time while putting it off because we’re not ready to take the leap yet. The Jupiter retrograde can often bring us the urge to take our chances, especially those we hadn’t previously explored and this includes matters of romance!

Mercury will trine Saturn

Mercury and Saturn are dignified and in domicile respectively while they are gently supporting one another with the trine aspect. Mercury governs our thought processes and the way we speak while Saturn governs our sense of responsibility and security so we will be taking life on with a constructive mindset. Meeting with conversations and tasks in an orderly manner will bring us the sense of comfort we need as we keep ourselves busy during the time of the coming New Moon.

Chiron will Oppose Mercury

Having noted Mercury’s connections with our conversational style, our thought processes and our ideas, we will look to Chiron to see what it means when this centaur opposes the planet. Chiron is a centaur who represents wounds within society that are deep enough to be traced back to not only the lives we are currently living but our past lives and deep into history. For this reason, Chiron represents the pains we express as a result of past neglect and the trauma we experience as a result of exploitation and abuse. This applies to each individual as we all have Chiron in our natal charts and it also applies to our community, the human race and our Earth. With Chiron opposing Mercury at the time of the New Moon, our thoughts will be on healing and finding new ways to overcome past trauma. For those us us who are in the healing or caring professions, we may know there is a need to improve our approach to responsibilities and therefore healing potentials towards others. Chiron is known as the wounded healer, so our focus will be on healing these wounds.
