You may have read my previous article on the solar return chart, where I explained its uniquely helpful use as an astrology tool in our lives.

Just to summarize, your solar return chart is subsidiary to your natal chart and a new one can be calculated each year as the Sun moves over your natal chart’s Sun. The interpretation of your solar return is therefore a predictive interpretation of your year ahead starting from your birthday, yet it can sometimes be felt up to three months prior to this, especially if you are empathic or highly sensitive to energetic frequencies.

The Moon in the Solar Return Chart

The Moon here can show us where and why we might be feeling the most sensitive over the coming year and how we commonly express our feelings. Is also shows us which emotional experiences we may attract via our instinctive actions and unconscious urges.

In the 1st House

Your emotional self-awareness may increase greatly this year as any associated problems you had pushed under the surface previously can now become more urgent. It’s important you listen to your intuition this year as some changes may need to be made that effect your self-esteem so you can deal with them as healthily as possible.

In the 2nd House

You may find you need to make changes to your financial situation this year so that you can less rely on others or increase your own financial stability. Your need for physical and material comforts can also increase, which often goes hand-in-hand with increased spending or an extra need for that ‘retail therapy’.

In the 3rd House

This year you may feel urged to integrate your conscious thoughts with your feelings, which means you may be more open and talkative than usual. You may also find that analysing your emotions comes more easily to you, as you can adapt and detach to and from situations much more easily.

In the 4th House

Your emotional landscape may change a lot this year as you try your best to adapt to changes in your home or your living arrangements. These could be anything from having to re-decorate to moving house to another location. Make sure you always have your own sanctuary where you can re-charge your batteries.

In the 5th House

You may either begin a new romantic relationship this year or your current one may become much more intimate as your desire for closeness and emotional expression deepens. It may also be difficult to hide what you are feeling in general, so it is likely not a good year for keeping secrets.

In the 6th House

There will likely be some changes to your daily working life this year or some shifts in your health, exercise or dietary habits. Some decisions you make could create job changes further along in the future. You may also pay much more attention to your habits and the effects these have on your health.

In the 7th House

You may feel a deeper need for emotional intimacy in your relationships. Also, love relationships can shift, becoming less balanced; as one of you becomes the carer to the other who is more dependent. Well-balanced relationships can grow more intimate as you listen to your heart over your mind this year.

In the 8th House

You may form a deeper awareness of the emotional experiences of others while your insight into the psychic arts may increase. Someone close may need your counselling as they’re drawn to your inner wisdom and you may discover some new things about your own psychological behaviours.

In the 9th House

Your feelings about your beliefs and philosophical leanings may come to the fore this year as you wonder whether this is a good time to change the way you have perceived your life and the world around you up until now. You may now find you need to adapt these to match your current role in your daily life.

In the 10th House

You may have some career changes this year which are good for you, so take advantage of any professional opportunities. Your reputation and job security become more important, so do focus on these as you may find you are more publicly recognised for the things you do. Remember though, mistakes may also be more noticeable.

In the 11th House

You may find that your own personal goals are high up on your priority list this year and that you need to work towards a project whilst not necessarily receiving support from your family and friends. It is also likely that you will find yourself amongst new people, whether community or personal friend groups, so this could help a great deal.

In the 12th House

You may be feeling things more intensely in general throughout the duration of this year while at the same time you struggle to find ways to express yourself emotionally. This may at times create a sense of loneliness in you. You may have also recently had to change your environment and are still in the process of adapting and making new emotional connections.
