Ingresses are often considered to be one of the most important events in Mundane Astrology, so let’s have a look at this year’s solar Aries and Libra ingress charts for the UK. The Sun’s Aries Ingress occurred 4 weeks ago on the 20th March 2021. The Ascendant for the UK’s Aries ingress is in mutable sign Gemini, which activates the chart for the following six months and over this period of time we can expect lots of news headlines and government announcements about the Coronavirus and the newly available vaccines, with perhaps some unfavourable news and press coverage, which appears to be likely with Mercury’s placement in detriment in Pisces in an applying square aspect with Mars in Gemini in the 1st house. However, with Neptune ruling the 10th house in the 10th house with Venus and Mercury in Pisces, there is likely to be a greater show of empathy from our government and this is already evident in the way Boris Johnson has finally released a statement apologising for the highdeath toll in the UK during the pandemic on the 17th March, just three days before the date of the Ingress. He also took full responsibility for the the way the UK has dealt with the pandemic over the past year and this is reflected with Saturn’s conjunction to the MC in Aquarius, therefore his current trend in communications will likely remain a theme over the coming six months as the chart remains activated. Meanwhile lockdown restrictions are being eased as schools reopened on the 8th March (effects of ingresses on a country can often be seen up to three months prior to the ingress itself), the end of the tier system was observed on the 22nd February and now outdoor gatherings of six people or two households are allowed and these newfound freedoms for our country as a whole and the general public are beautifully reflected by Jupiter’s strong position in Aquarius in conjunction with the MC, with an orb of just 2°58’. Jupiter also nicely trines the Ascendant in Gemini and our Moon which represents us, the British public. The government themselves are still very much focussed on legislation, welfare and easing the nation back into our leisurely activities, as is indicated with the chart’s Sun in the 11th house conjoining Venus in the 10th. In Brexit news With Saturn ruling the 8th house of the banking and finance sector, we can see that his placement in the 9th house is reflective of the difficult situation of the loss of so many many jobs here. This industry has certainly received one of the hardest knocks and as a result, will still be in a long process of undergoing many structural transformations as many banks and financial institutions move towards the EU; many of them Dublin or Paris. This can also be seen with Pluto in Capricorn signifying deep regenerations and reconstructions of financial systems in the 8th house. Additionally, Pluto isn’t very easily aspected with a partile quincunx to the Ascendant. The Sun’s Libra Ingress will occur on the 22nd September 2021. Boris Johnson promised a ‘full inquiry’ into all that has taken place surrounding the coronavirus pandemic and I wonder if this is something that will be set into motion following the Sun’s ingress into Libra on the 22nd September because, looking at the Libra ingress chart for September (see below), there will be Pluto in retrograde conjoining the MC in the 9th house, which can signify justice by way of hidden information coming to light about the way the government has communicated with the public, all that has been a sore topic throughout the whole of the pandemic. After all, Pluto does form the crux of a T-Square with the Moon and Mercury in opposition in the UK’s chart of the Libra ingress. Jupiter in Aquarius in the 10th house trining Mercury in Libra in the 6th also seems to promise a certain level of transparency and movement towards justice via fair communications. As temporary Brexit arrangements are said to be easing by the end of the year with many of the UK’s negotiations well underway we may expect to recognise fresh tensions between the British public and the way the whole of the Brexit process has been handled, as the people of the country will be able to take into account all that has happened over the past five years. With Moon in the 12th house opposite Mercury in the 6th house of work and civil service! Hopefully though, new trade deals indicated by Jupiter in the 10th will help to smooth this over, as he forms a nice sextile/ trine aspect between the two, offering a respite from the tension of the opposition. |
