Venus is certainly the planet that more than any other presides over our affective life, that allows us to understand of the reason for certain relational dynamics, and sometimes is also able to make us understand where they come from, especially if they seem uprooted by the whole of our personality.

In karmic astrology Venus possesses an added value since it helps to lighten all the dynamics that we have inherited from our past existence and that in the present one must be understood and managed and overcome in order to avoid the same errors and not to enter that most particular and untrustworthy psychological mechanism that is the tendency to repeat things.

The retrograde position with Venus has a particular importance, since it regards a blocked energy, conditioned by a series of factors that date back to preceding lives from which they are still largely managed.
This Venus position in the natal chart can often lead to having an affective life that initially presents difficulties, problems that can regard uneasiness rather than living serenely, without anxieties, or it hinders a relationship and, if it is in dissonant aspect (squaring and opposition) with other planets from the chart, it is probable that it could also generate problems which require a long time to be resolved, until their real nature, which are subject to all the mechanisms that have settled in our existence are understood.

Particularly if Venus retrograde is in dissonant aspect with Saturn it is very probable that the person comes from a series of existences in which he/she has lived in a kind of affective voluntary or imposed (family, sociocultural field, catastrophic external events) deprivation which now acts in an underhand way pushing towards attitudes that can unconsciously lead to repel the partner or not to appear attractive to others, even though there is nothing unpleasant about one’s physical aspect. In some cases it can happen that a potential partner is felt to be an obstacle to one’s career, to the carrying out one’s plans, projects, probably because this was the case in the preceding life, and therefore everything that is possible to get them to go away is done, since he/she is seen as a danger.

Generally one gets out of this emotional and relational difficulty in the presence of strong transits of conjunct ion between Uranus, Pluto and / or Saturn with the Radical Venus or when Venus returns to the chart in its his direct motion, which can happen no more than every 42 years.

When Venus retrograde is instead in dissonant aspect to Uranus it is probable that there have been unconventional experiences in our past lives or our affectivity has been conceived in a free way, perhaps too much so for the period in which it was lived, so as to create uneasy situations and refusal that has then led over time to loneliness or an incapacity to live serenely in couple.
In the present existence it is very probable that a need remains of not having strict, binding connections and perhaps also those that are excessively binding, but at the same time one is ready for trying new forms of love and relationships and the evolutive level offered by this aspect in the natal chart gives the possibility of being able to transform a love that is over into a profound and brotherly friendship.

Clearly it is about a karmic and evolutive challenge that is very important and that requires effort and a lot of work on the consciousness that can be given by the transits of Uranus and Chiron on the Radical Venus as soon as it has returned symbolically on its route in the progress chart.

In the next article we will face the retrograde Venus position in aspect to Neptune, Pluto, Chiron and to the axis of the lunar node, later on revealing the karmic-emotional dynamics of this star which is more and more important in our daily life.
